Interesting vehicle!. Rear axles look much like the 6x6 Perentie setup. Not even run in at those K's. Wonder why it's up for sale?

International No.1 Mk.3 / Re: WATER TEMP SENDER UNIT, Mk3

Thanks, Ravvin  I apricate your help. I've been look at the after-market types as well. The thread is also an issue, I've come up with a Tridon TTS006 , its a M16  1.50
which is close to  5/8   Fine (UNF). I can get one of these off the shelf for $15 something. Bugger all cost to find out if it works. Whether it has the same Electrical value remains to be seen. I got a cross reference from the original part to tridon  and this is what came up TTS006.

I believe the part # I listed in original post143241R91 is its electrical value.

By the way to import an original part from the USA which you can still get is like $150 plus, and then there is Post of $57 something. that's all Ausi dollars I'm talking about.

Ill do as you say and check the gauge # as well. Regards Hunter.

International No.1 Mk.3 / Re: WATER TEMP SENDER UNIT, Mk3

I've done some searching and found a bit of info.
The International part number, as you listed, 143241R91, is also listed as NSN part# 6685-00-629-5007. This was replaced by a newer number, 6685-00-034-2601.
It is also listed as part# 73945, and the manufacturer was Little Giant Crane and Shovel Inc, and 362T was a Stuart-Warner Corporation number, but I can't find anyone stocking either of them.
These trucks were designed to use parts commonly available off the shelf at the time, which is why you often find parts that also fit the older Fords, Holdens and Land Rovers of the same period. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Holden part that would replace it and still be available.

Tridon would definitely have a compatible part, but you would need to know the specs of the original to get a cross reference.
It may be worth calling Auto Surplus on Tuesday and give them all the numbers. They have helped me out a few times with hard to find stuff.
Another option is to buy an aftermarket gauge with it's own sender and switch them out. That way you know they are going to work together and be accurate.
Or, if you are going for reliability and safety over originality, get a TM1 Watchdog monitor. I put one in my Discovery 1 and it saved me twice now. The temp sensor is in the highest part of the cooling system, so if you have an air pocket, it sits under the sender unit. For it to register a high temperature, the entire thermostat housing has to heat up as the coolant isn't touching the sender. It also taps into the oil pressure sensor wire and lets you know if you lose oil pressure.
Just had a thought. See if you can get the part number for the actual gauge and search for that. It might mention what vehicles and machinery it's used in and you can then use that to find a sender.
Sorry I can't be much help.

Greg.

Oh, that's odd. I tried it on Chrome and it opened up the file straight away. Maybe it only works in some browsers.
It was only an audio recording of it spinning over a couple of turns and firing right up, no hesitation or stumble. That's after sitting 4 years.

The bushes I need to make aren't for the actual carbs. The guys that rebuilt them took care of them. The design the Army came up to sync the 2 carbs was to use a system of steel rods that hook into metal plates and flat bars to transfer the pedal movement to the accelerator linkages. It's all just mild steel, so over time the holes turned oval and the metal rods wore down. Now there's a lot of slop in the system, preventing the front carb from opening at the same rate as the rear one.
The brass hex bar I need to make new exhaust manifold nuts arrived on Friday. Ordered and dispatched on 5th of January, arrived on the 16th. $14 freight and 11 days to get from NSW to Tassie. Aus Post is really getting bad. Hopefully, I will get them turned up this weekend and get the down-pipes and muffler on. Then just need to see what I need to extend it a bit to get the fumes outside.

Nice to hear from you Greg.

When you have made and installed the throttle bushes, you will need to ream them so that the bores are inline. Make the internal diameter a few 1/100mm smaller than the shaft and then ream to size.
