Title: Camel Trophy videos
Post by: Carzee on December 10, 2017, 10:21:57 PM
 :D

Seems there is a international mania on youtube for re-enacting the Camel Trophy (Defender years)... I don't know how I didn't know about this hobby before.

Quite a few years back now I sent an article to a fellow who was going organise that very same thing here in Oz but I don't think it got off the ground at all, if you look/search in AULRO.com you may find the thread, cheers dennis
ps yes it is a big deal worldwide but not so much here,,.

Did you see the scale Dennis ;)

They are expensive machines, but very fun!

RC4wd do a nice 90, but a 110 is harder and are mostly custom made.

Exceedingly good details -even down to the dull headlights.

The video gets around the lack of engine noises by having a famous spaghetti -western soundtrack. Now watch if you watch it again but with the sound minimalised and play a different soundtrack instead, such as the theme from the Benny Hill Show or Monty Pythons FC :) ....

Not as much as issue as it was as you can get sound modules now, be interesting to see how many crawlers use these nowadays

I wonder if we will see one or two RC 110s at the Cooma showground.
