Title: 2017 Corowa Swim-In & Military Vehicle Gathering
Post by: Richard Farrant on October 30, 2016, 08:54:52 PM
Hi,
The latest edition of KVE News is now on our website, www.corowaswim-in.org. Here is a direct link to it;
http://media.wix.com/ugd/494429_853dec4a32764f598f60c5226e44067f.pdf
All the up to date information on the event next March is in it.
The themes will be Year of the International and Year of the Carrier, but all military vehicles are encouraged to attend.
As the Carrier theme needs a bit more organising, regarding areas to display their versatilities, etc. We would like owners to make contact with us as soon as possible in order to gauge numbers, etc. Even if you are not sure currently if you can make it, please let us now. If you go to pages 9 and 10, the Carrier co-ordinator, Harvey, has some info for you and a data sheet that he would like completed if possible.
Entry form is downloadable from the website.

It should be made clear that if you intend bringing your military vehicle, you must complete an entry form and pay the fee otherwise you will not be able to take part in the activities. This is in order that you and your vehicle are covered under the KVE insurance. Better to pre-register, rather than doing it when you arrive, that way you will receive a Participants Pack.

best regards,
Richard Farrant

Talking on a LR facebook page, there was mention of a military vehicle run up the High Country 3 days before the swim in from Mansfield to Chesthunt.
Sounds like fun. Any more info ?

I wont be taking a Land Rover this year Richard, I'm a bit pressed for space. Though we will be at Ball Park on the oval this year.  No broken wrist :). I am finishing 110-595 at the moment.

Cheers,

Having a good time. Time is going fast —thurs night already. We are in central rice bowl. Blighty in the riverina, or more correctly, canalarina. Paul's mk3 blew its fanbelt in the last 20km before the destination.
Top days and weather so far. Its a cool breeze tonight in the pub carpark too. Goldilocks sort of cool. Tucker was good too.
We have met all the MV acquaintances and caught up on people's projects. Very enjoyable Corowa....

The place is packed. It's the biggest swim in I've seen.
Went for a swim in the Murray River in a Stalwart yesterday.
Must check the river to see what is floating. I heard there were a few No5's in there earlier.
I've taken hundreds of pics.

Hi Dennis,

I'm not quite sure but I thought the number was disappointing. Speaking to Dave G a well known and respected "Inter man", he said the vehicles that paraded was about what his expectations were.

David's F2 Tipper was there and a very nicely restored F1 was there , then Paul's Two , and Diana's jinker were probably best of the ACCO fleet and there were a couple of S Lines , one very nice one with trailer and a spare prime mover on board.

Here's hoping the Land Rover will blow them out of the water next year.

We're looking at alternative to Ball Park next year it was too crowded , full of large vans and just not very pleasant. Stay tuned everyone.

Cheers ,

Mick

Hit the nail there -"not very pleasant". Snafu in numerous ways.

The Corowa shops were all very busy let alone the caravan parks. Hardware shop. Jaycar. Everything you did meant a queue. ATMs. Bottleshop. Maccas bigtime. "Slowest ever" award there. The local cop booked a jeep on sanger st.

Another negative - the stolly yob that photo bombed the Landy lineup/social. This was after a major problem/panic stations further down the wilson track there in the river. Nearly sunk the Stolly. Video of that should surface...

Caravan parks. Our accom at Bindaree was ok mon to wed then friday night during a camp dinner the yobbos arrived, last light, and proceeded to set up and party til after midnight. There was also some bucks and hens nights happenning - lots of the campers were for the weddings and most were for the Hoodoo Gurus and Whitlams concert on the green Sat night near the new bridge. We were at the showgrounds and the sound carried there. We booked/paid for a night there after the swap but there was a snafu there too and after going for chinese at rutherglen pub we returned to find it locked up. So we camped at Collendina reserve, 8km west of Corowa on Spring Drv, which was the best camp of the week.

Sunday we drove over to Moama Mil Veh Museum. Pretty good collection, over 50 years in the making.
Camping overnight just down the road: super humid 21deg here at 2am....

But whatever. Corowa problems were made up for by all the landy people we met. It went so fast. There is always something to look over and chat about. Constant, for a week...

edit. the above negatives about Corowa aren't permanent, we have been spoilt by so many good Corowa events. This year the town was different, crowded really, and that was very unfortunate and more or less unforeseeable.
Title: Re: 2017 Corowa Swim-In & Military Vehicle Gathering
Post by: Mick_Marsh on March 20, 2017, 10:53:39 AM
I have only four minor disappointments.

1. Yes, it was overcrowded at Ball Park, but we managed. Everyone was there, it was a great place to walk around, and easy to walk to the shops.
2. The REMLR photoshoot was a shamozzle. More on that later in another thread.
3.  Jeep owners are quite rude. Well, the ones I had run-ins with. Tried to photobomb a photo of the Inters. Was rude when asked to move.
4. Jeep owners have no regard for others. From what I saw, Jeeps have two speeds, stationary or 60km/h. On the open road or in the unpowered camping area has no effect on these speeds.

Carzee, the only queue I experienced was the one up Sanger St. on the Saturday morning. When I walked into Jaycar, I was the only customer there.
Oh, might I suggest there are better alternatives to McDonalds.

And the Jeep owner in Sanger St. might have deserved it.

Hi Boys,

here are a couple of photo`s of Mike K, Mick, and Paul D`s move to Corowa.

We travelled from Melbourne via Yea, Mansfield, Whitfield, and Wangaratta.  Paul broke down prior to Mansfield thankfully and we managed to repair the problem prior to hitting the Mansfield - Whitfield Rd which is hilly, lots of hair pin turns and narrow - a bloody night mare if a recovery had to happen.

Anyway we made it to the Mountain iew Hotel at dinner time and hada feed prior to pushing on to Corowa.

I really enjoyed the trip this year, it was great to catch up with everyone over a few quiet ales...

The drive up with the 2 inters was fun, we made a bit of an impact as we went, and helped out the local fuel suppliers and auto electricians as well!

I agree Mick, it would have been a bit of a mission recovering Pauls truck from the Whitfield road, but the feed at the pub was worth it, looking forward to doing it again next year with Land Rovers.

The caravan park was very crowded, hopefully we can find somewhere better next year, it was a bit disappointing to have someone knock off my camp chair as well.

Blighty was a highlight as already mentioned, much cooler than Corowa.

And thanks for showing me your new photos of the early LRPVs in service Mick, lots of great detail - I havent seen that gun mount in the tub before, I wonder why they changed it it looked very comfortable!

Looking forward to 2018, the year of the Land Rover, I've got some work to do!

Cheers,

Mike.

What you on about??  I dont see what the issue is - it is unlikely the forum can handle 250 pics and the way Mick did it is spot on.

Attitude adjustment required - not expected on this forum or indeed AULRO.

Yes I gave them a few bits and bobs to help get it going - they had some bits of the racks but were nowhere near complete - the ones I gave them were complete and structurally sound but some of the aluminum sheet metal had melted where the racks had been on the edge of the Vic fires.  Just needed some new sheet bent up to fit.

Bandiana is a great Museum but I wish they had drive days and went to more "shows" but I know they only operate on a shoestring budget.  Do you know if any of their vehicles went to Corowa - it is a shame that the 101 will probably never be again driven on the road  :(

I know they have taken vehicles to Corowa in the past. Don't know if any were there this year.
They were happy with us. They weren't expecting so many of us.
They should up the entry fee. Two dollars is too cheap.

Hi boys,

I don't think they have taken any vehicles to Corowa for a few years. I couldn't agree more , it's a shame they don't get some of these vehicles out occasionally.

The vehicles parked outside although under cover are really in need of some TLC.  A good service, clean, and a chance to blow out some cobwebs would do them a world of good.

Cheers,

Mick

If you need a password to see a pic well you can have them for yourself  >:(

It is nothing to do with a particular forum, it is Photobucket rules, that's where the pictures are situated and you need a password to see them.  If it didn't have one then the world could see them  ;)

BTW nice pictures Mick.

Has anyone seen a list of the vehicles that attended?

I'd like to know how close we got the the Jeeps

Jeep numbers seemed down (as their owners get too old), but caravan numbers were up!

Most Jeep's were trailered to Corowa whereas nearly all land Rovers were driven! ( except mine but it was towed by a Defender)

Thanks

I think Jan or Richard F will have those figures soon Scott. I saw a number mentioned by someone at my work... 74 jeeps & 40 landys.  Greater than 50 % is better than most years :)

Cheers.

Cheers,

Mike.

No Worries Mike , yes they are unusual , not any LRPV I had seen before. Hey don't forget "DEAR MUM" and enjoy your holiday.

Cheers,

Mick

I have an updated list of military vehicles since looking back at our list and finding some discrepancies. The total vehicles is 223 plus 6 bicycles. The total number of carriers is 14 including 2 LP1's, 1 British 3inch Mortar Carrier and 2 Strickland's. The total number of Land Rovers were 41. The total number of Jeeps was 74 plus 6 GPA's. I have gone back through the vehicle lists since 2008 and have compared the number of Land Rovers to Jeeps. You might want to spread the word that next year is Year of the Land Rover otherwise it will end up looking more like Year of the jeep if their numbers are higher. There are people already planning to bring their Jeeps so the Land Rovers may not outnumber them.
2008 - Land Rovers 23 and Jeeps 58
2009 - Land Rovers 22 and Jeeps 45
2010 - Land Rovers 24 and Jeeps 180
2011-  Land Rovers 49 and Jeeps 65
2012 - Land Rovers 19 and Jeeps 66
2013 - Land Rovers 25 and Jeeps 71
2014 - Land Rovers 32 and Jeeps 84
2015 - Land Rovers 40 and Jeeps 79
2016-  Land Rovers 30 and Jeeps 81
2017 - Land Rovers 41 and Jeeps 80

these numbers also include GPA's

If you blokes from the Western districts swing thru Melbourne we could convoy up thru Yea and Mansfield like a couple of us did this year. The country is beautiful and the roads are fun to drive. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

We could pick up Magellan at Mansfield 👍

Food for thought ?

Yep I'd be in, but it would be a two day trip from Gods own country in a series. Takes me 6 1/2 hours going the most direct route, and Frank is a couple of hours further than me

We could RV Melbourne on Monday around lunchtime  then over night at Yea, pushing thru to Rutherglen on the Tuesday.

It would be a scenic , leisurely , drive.

It would be a lot of fun.

Hopefully with more than one vehicle as well, those jxxps don't stand a chance.

Its going to be a long drive for me next year. Move the Perentie about 100m, stop park, run back and get the SIII, drive 110 metres, stop park, run back and get Gog the SIIB F/C, drive 120 metres, stop park, run back to get the first one and repeat doing 100 metres each time.

Unless I get the gunbuggy done then the relay will be 4 vehicles! :)

I have to say though i was dissappointed at whoever organised the group photo in shadows and bushes.  To say the Stolly ruined the shoot (  the owner wouldnt listen until firmly told to shut it down ) was nothing to do with the fact it was in such a terrible location. No matter what angle vehicles were unseen or in the dark. An open field in sunlight i thought wasnt rocket science even for the non experienced photographer.

I was really looking forward to being in the group Remlr photo.  When i saw how they were assembled in a such a bad location i lost all interest.
Maybe someone has a miricle photo, perhaps from the drone before the Stolly kicked up all the dust.
Oh well there is always next year when everyone should pull their fingers out and make the effort to beat the jeeps !! Seriously where does all the Frontline auction 110s go ???  I know its a big effort, i travelled 1500klm in my 69' 109GS S2a. Its a mission i know. But we cant let a bunch of jeeps have a bigger turn out on the year of the Landrover !  Cmon peoples..

I found it difficult to remember names to faces and remlr usernames. But i did manage to meet a few members on here and make some new friends.  Had a great time and cant wait till the next one. I didnt mind the crowd , you just had to know your clearances and be good at manovering your vehicle around the other campers. I found everyone had managed to squish into a spot yet still have the curtasy to allow access in and out of the grassy area for others around them. The sound of the flat head V8's and the airstart Mack, the quietness of the Internationals supprised me.  Hot water was always hot and you didnt have to jump around in the shower to get wet.  Plus there was 3 ammenties blocks in different directions to choose from all about equal distance. The lagoon / beach was great to cool off every day in the river.  Thanks to the boys that set up the theatre tent and played war movies of a night, i got to see hacksaw ridge, and my mate bought a packboard that was used in that movie.  We stayed up most nights having a couple of drinks,  but did our best to keep noise to a minimum. Maybe not the case for the first night.  We did appologise the next day, but was given an abrupt response saying its too late now, you should have thought about that before you started drinking.... yeah right. Drink and think ?  We would of shut up if anyone told us too.   So i appologise again if we made too much noise having a few drinks and having some fun.

"I have to say though i was disappointed at whoever organised the group photo in shadows and bushes..."

Well I am sorry and apologise. Things fell apart. One or two attempts to access the property were arranged during the week. We did succeed in a reccy from the road but only the paddock fronting the road was seen. No trees out front... but no hill either.

The location was moved about 11am that morning to the back of the home (during a phone call) when it was offered to our group because there was a small rise was back there. The only rising ground on that property.

12 to 15 Landys at least were down the end of the 3km track to the river for an earlier social by KVE and despite efforts by Steven to go down there and round them up, to ask them to come to the lineup, only three or four joined in; most just drove by and back to Corowa for a coldie as it was not their club thing. While we waited the Stolly trampled attempts to park up - but sadly he didn't run over the two saplings. We had just arrived back in Corowa after the Blighty Run and had just driven in a small convoy after dropping trailers.

Next year is the YOTLR at Corowa and it would be good to get some ideas flowing for a social and a convoy somewhere at a minimum (like the Blighty Run). LR through the years photos display? Greatest Oil Leak Tall stories? So you think you know your part numbers trivia comp?

...Any ideas for 2017 out there? Anyone want to step up and organise something?

Hi Ross,

Firstly, we all really appreciate your efforts, keep going.......

Couple of things, I think REMLR got overrun by KVE in changing the photo location, under the bridge as per previous years is best, I talked to people who went there to be in the photo and no one was there. We wont let KVE over run REMLR again.

The Blighty run is DEFINITELY on next year, we should open it up to all Land Rovers (and only Land Rovers)

The guy in the Alvis, extremely disappointing, more disappointing that a KVE committee member was encouraging him to do another "Lap" when I was on the "mound" trying to take photos of the Land Rovers , that person was yelling at me to get out of the way, (I left immediately as experience tells me to leave and not escalate the situation, if you know what I mean - comes with age!) this is the person that made us go to that spot in the first place! exceptionally rude! and worth mentioning for their next general meeting. I am pondering about formalising my complaint.

Apart from that I love the event and the people, and I love stirring up the J#$P owners!

can't wait for next year

SitRep Nam

This is me , I was camped next to you selling the No5 canopies, great photos by the way, nice to meet you

I don't agree that we were made to do the KVE combo. I didn't know about what was said to you with the Stolly photo thing until you just posted it. Some crossed purposes there somehow.

It all started as an opportunity to get our lineup and armoured vehicles together as it was a clash of event timing we were trying to fix. Some corowa land rovers were going to miss the landy lineup because of the armour/carrier event up the back of the property. We wanted the most Landies possible. But they didn't join us anyway. They did't know the time we had set either. They drove past us. Obviously the Landies who went to Rowers Park "usual place" didn't read the program handed out to event participants. I realise I didn't see the armour/carrier event where we ended up either, unless you count the Stolly. The day previously there was a good armoured event on the obs course behind the showground which turned into a good little Landy social (with ants, millions of them). That was a more enjoyable event as well.

Sitrepnam, great to meet you as well, good effort bringing the 109 down, it was really good to see it.

As Ross and Scott said, we won't let the photoshoot chaos happen again next year.

Great to meet you as well, I didn't get a chance to have a good look but did you get another canopy for your vehicle?

Cheers,

Mike. (The other 2A 109 next to the inters).

Hi,
As the new President of KVE I would like to clarify a few points in recent posts on this thread, where it mentions about the Friday trip to Maurice Wilson's property. There is a misconception regarding this run out. It was for all vehicles, not just armour and carriers, which was borne out by the number and variety of vehicles that turned up at the property. We were told by the owner of the property that we could drive around all the tracks in the specified area.

Referring back to Reply#11 under the heading Landy Love In line up, the time of the line up was mentioned in the January issue of KVE News and repeated again in the Special Edition newsletter which all pre-registered participants were given in their pack.

The precise location of the Land Rover line up on the property was arranged by a REMLR member so any comments regarding this should not be aimed at KVE.

Not all Land Rover owners present are REMLR members or forum followers so despite publicity of the photo shoot, they did not take part. This may have been their choice, despite Jan T and myself trying to inform Land Rover owners down by the river of the photo shoot.

We (KVE), did invite a representative of REMLR to attend the KVE meeting on Sunday to discuss the Land Rover activities at our 2018 event, but no one turned up, or provided us with information or any plans from REMLR.

KVE is keen to involve REMLR and other Land Rover organisations to make the 2018 Corowa Swim-In and Year of the Land Rover a great event. Please email any thoughts and ideas to me at kve.editor@btinternet.com so we may discuss them with our committee and members.

best regards,

Nice work Ross, great pic's

I have a few suggestions for a REMLR photo next year :

1. A photo taken either early morning or late afternoon in front of the Australia Hotel ;

2. Maybe in the gardens around Corowa RSL;

3. If possible in the Straight at the race course ( Pic taken with Boxy's drone);

4. Main Street of Rutherglen;

5. A sight within the barracks at Bandiana ; and
6. We allocate some time in a recon of Howlong / Rutherglen / Wangaratta.

Bottom line is if everyone gets their projects completed, find drivers and are committed for the week we can achieve a photo to remember and enjoy many many times.
I think it's great we're starting the conversation early and we don't put a line thru any idea.  No idea considered too hard, stupid, or other.

Gedday men, a belated thank you for all combining to make the event enjoyable. The Blighty run was especially good Mick  ;), cheers. Thanks to Scott for saving me a tent spot too. Met some new faces, blokes I've chatted with on an ex Army Series FB page. Reconnected with a bloke I hadn't seen for nigh on 30 years too  :)

Enjoyed the parade again but disappointed in the swap meet.

I echo the concerns about the Alvis dill and Ball Park, Bindaree is so spacious but just not handy to town. What to do?

I'll put my mind to thinking about a trip too for YoTLR

Thanks for clarifying those points from a KVE perspective Richard. Your event was great this year and I enjoyed it a lot. I'm certain your discussions with the local council will ensure that other events will not be scheduled for the same weekend in the future. I know this is a concern with locals as well.... the town simply does not have the capacity without a creating a squeeze...

I'm sure the REMLR Committee will be in contact with KVE shortly. Coordination will be a key ingredient for next years event.

I'm a member of AMEC.  There were no negative points raised about the event at our AGM in Corowa. We appreciated KVE's efforts and it was a pleasure to be your guest.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Pete,
Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated.

Regarding other events happening in the town at the same time, I guess this is referring to the concert at All Saints Winery on Saturday. This was over the border in Victoria and out of the Federation Council's area and also the winery had no control over the date as we understand as the concerts are run by a promotion business. An unfortunate clash of dates. We also heard that attendance at the concert was much lower than in previous years. We did raise our concerns prior to the Swim-In with the local council in Victoria, but they had no control over dates.

With the hike in accommodation charges happening in the area once the concert was announced, we made a point in the Special Edition newsletter that our participants were given, to encourage them to put a deposit down at their place of stay, for 2018, and making sure the charges could be held at agreed rates.

We look forward to hearing from all vehicle clubs and groups in our planning for the 2018 Corowa Swim-In.

best regards,
Richard Farrant

News from the KVE Public Relations Officer
Many thanks for members of your club who attended the Corowa Swim-In in 2017. The event is becoming more popular. The theme for 2018 is Year of the Land Rover. We looked at statistics comparing the number of Land Rovers in attendance since 2008. Will the Jeep numbers again succeed over the number of Land Rovers??  We know there have been many recent sales of Land Rovers through auction and privately so for those who own a Land Rover we hope to see it next year.
2008 23 Land Rovers to 58 Jeeps
2009 22 Land Rovers to 45 Jeeps
2010 24 Land Rovers to 180 Jeeps
2011 48 Land Rovers to 65 Jeeps
2012 19 Land Rovers to 66 Jeeps
2013 25  Land Rovers to 71 Jeeps
2014 32 Land Rovers to 74 Jeeps
2015 40 Land Rovers to 79 Jeeps
2016 30 Land Rovers to 81 Jeeps
2017 41 Land Rovers to 80 Jeeps
We are aiming to contact Land Rover Clubs to see if we can publicise the event to people who own military Land Rovers. We also encourage people with all types of military vehicles to attend every year.

Dates for future Swim-In events at Corowa:
2018: 12-18th March – Year of the Land Rover
2019: 11-18th March – Year of the Amphibian and Year of Prototype (this is also the 40th Year of the Swim-In)
2020: 9-16th March – Year of the Motorcycle (40th Anniversary of the Corowa Swim-In)
2021: 8-15th March – Year of the Jeep (celebrating 80 years of the Jeep).

To be kept up to date with swim-in news please make sure you are on our database. The easiest way is to send an email to: kveinc@optusnet.com.au or phone Jan on 0412 078096.

2017 post event report:
By 28th February we had 300 pre-registered participants. We successfully applied during the year to the Federation Council and received a Tourism event grant. Due to the amalgamation of the Corowa and Urana Shires to form the Federation Council we received a smaller amount this year due to the number of extra applicants. We also received a grant from the Corowa RSL which goes towards our parade.
By the end of the event we had 223 vehicles plus 6 bicycles. There were 14 carriers plus a FV432. There were 11 LP Carriers which included 2 x LP1 carriers and a British 3 inch Mortar Carrier   Also attending were 2 Strickland Bren Tractors. With the International theme we had 17 trucks and 2 Farmall tractors. The oldest being a WW2 KB truck.

Participants all had Voting forms and nominated KVE members check the forms after 12 MD on Saturday.
Awards were given to:
1. Mal Mackay Memorial Award: This award will be given to an individual who appears to get the most enjoyment out of being at Corowa. John Mackie
2. Hard Luck award: Went to Deborah Birrell who had a brake problem in the DUKW on the way to Corowa and meant it had to be left half way
3. Breakdown Award: Wayne Lane. He was the only carrier going on the Thursday trip in the convoy to the offroad course and broke down half way and had to return to Ball Park
4. Longest distance driven in a military vehicle: Gary Schluter from WA.
5. Encouragement Award: Makere Beale made the trip from New Zealand with her father Rob. She arrived on the Wednesday  afternoon and was very enthusiastic and helped on the site office and went 4WD on Thursday and arrived back driving a Land Rover
6. Vehicle - People’s Choice For your favourite vehicle attending this year. Fiat SPA TL37 Gun Tractor owned by Alan Blackwell
7. Carrier - People’s Choice: For your favourite Carrier attending this year.
2 awards were given to the carrier theme vehicles. The LP2 owned by Robin Mawson and driven by Chris Munford and the second award was given to Mark Young for his LP2A carrier
8. International - People’s Choice: For your favourite International vehicle attending this year.
2 awards were given to the International theme vehicles. The International F5 wrecker owned by Chris Watson and the WW2 KB International owned by Geoff Naylor.

There was a wide range of interesting amphibious vehicles with 5 GPA’s, a LARC 5 and a Alvis Stalwart. We were looking forward to the DUKW but due to a breakdown it failed to arrive.

There was a wide choice of opportunities for those who wanted to participate in activities. On Monday Alex McPherson organised a 4WD trip and on Thursday Glen Weltner organised another 4WD trip.  Some people attended school visits, others went to Bandiana on the pre organised trip led by Mick Morrissey and there was a large turn out to see the Corowa Wool Store and REMLR organised an overnight trip to Blighty. There were also 2 off road locations close to Corowa which included the Racecourse back paddock and Maurice Wilson’s property. On the Friday night Deborah Birrell gave a very interesting talk on her experiences on the Kokoda Trail. Each year we have a guest who gives a talk and the Corowa Footy Club, across the road from Ball Park has been the ideal location as we can also have a meal at a reasonable charge and find out the last minute plans for the parade.
Due to another event occurring in Victoria at the same time there were a number of people who made contact with me as they were upset at being charged higher than normal room rates. We recommend pre-booking your accommodation from one year to the next and sometimes a deposit is required and if you can’t attend this deposit is usually refunded with adequate notice.

We commence organising our participant packs months prior to the event as we have to pre-order items such as caps, plaques, Special edition newsletters and stickers. We would appreciate people entering the event ASAP so we can get approximate numbers at least 2 months before the event. If you pre-register and are unable to attend we can either offer you a refund or put your entry towards the following year so please don’t hold back to the last minute and enter then as it may be too late.

We were very pleased with the number of attendees and the positive comments we received from both visitors and participants. Hope you have had time to read your Special Edition Newsletter and just remember to read it when it is handed to you as it had all the details of trips, meeting times and locations along with interesting articles. In the participant packs there are also Voting forms, an entry form for the following year, a sticker to advertise the following year and some vouchers for local businesses.

My full Corowa report will be in the June edition of the KVE news.

All the best for restorations for 2018 and beyond.

KVE secretary and Public Relations Officer

Maybe not the case for the first night, we managed to make Nigel (thats what we called him as he didnt seem to have any friends) pissed off and insted of asking us to quiet down or even a yell to shut up,  he just packed up moved to a dirt patch in the morning. Then im sure bad mouthing us to others in the area.  We did appologise the next day, but was given an abrupt response saying its too late now, you should have thought about that before you started drinking.... yeah right. Drink and think ?  We would of shut up if anyone told us too.   So i appologise again if we made too much noise having a few drinks and having some fun.

I am not anal enough to bother surreptitiously bad mouthing people......I think people are capable of discrediting themselves all by them-self.

Well i do appologise again Spider, last thing i want is any bad love amoungst fellow members.  I do need to learn to keep my mouth sometimes i think. (Comes with age agreed) Hope to see you next year and a 6pk is on me.   Top wknd and i am looking forward to TYOTLR 2018.  I think KVE go to alot of trouble as does REMLR,  organising these things is never smooth sailing.
  Cheers
Clint.
