not sure what you want done, I have included your number on the ARN database and your details are updated with 178-065. At this stage the descriptions in the ARN database is Richard's domain...

Can you clarify and I'll see what needs doing

Hi All,

Just a reminder I am trying to get/keep the database on the website as accurate as possible, please let me know if you have any changes or are aware of any vehicle i.e. for sale on ebay, and I'll adjust the database to suit.

Please also note the database has been adjusted to reflect registrants/members number-first name-first letter of surname only (REMLR,com - Information for members - REMLR membership list), this is to help keep information in the public arena as secure as possible but still publish a list of vehicles held by members.

Scott

Hi Scott. A couple to tidy up. The following owned by me. 1967/8 109 gs 174 354, 1959 s11 88 ex navy RAN3, box trailer 100 609, Mk3 acco gs 170 727, Mk1 acco 107 352. The lwb s11 111 977 is still there but I don't own it, so should be taken off my list as should the navy S1 as I sold this back in the 90's. I think there was a misunderstanding when I told Richard about it, he thought I still had it.  Regards, Bruce.

Punchie, it's your vehicle so have it which ever way you like it best, but to have photo prof of something special that is fantastic, not many of us get to see photos of our let alone find it is unique, if it was me I would bring it back to the spec in the photo, feel like buying some white paint????

Get it on the road Punchie, enjoy it for a while, then if you feel like changing it later on then do it, the main thing is its still alive.

Can you add 110-866 59' Command recon to my "shed"?
Also my gun buggy was listed as 112-336 but it is 112-335.
I noticed that in the spread sheet there was a link to an AWM document, does that mean it's been to SVN?

Hi Scott - I've just bought 33-868 and it's on its way to Brisbane now. It's a 1981 series 3 FFT in reasonably original nick but the 2.6 is not running.

When I got it loaded in Sydney I only had time for a quick look but it had a radio in the back behind the passenger seat and a transverse seat behind the bulkhead and a

couple of singles loose on the floor. All blackout lights, garden tool mounts and airlift fittings were there as well as the red/white overhead light in the back.

Will post pics when it arrives.

Are you sure the thing behind the passenger is a "radio" or is it actually the 24V power distribution box that usually sits in that location?

Hi Diana

I only had a quick look - it had dials and knobs and looked about 18" X 18" and was mounted on the bulkhead behind the passenger seat - so it could be a Nazi deathray for all I know.
I'll take a photo when it gets here and hopefully I'll identify it then.

Hi Gary

Now you have to look at the RHS of the engine and see if the 100Amp 24V alternator is still present.  It is unusual if it is.

Thanks Diana - I'll look for it when it arrives. My father in law had a 24v Nissan Patrol in the early 80's - that car was bulletproof  - hopefully this one will be too eventually.

Hi gary

The SIII FFR are a dual voltage vehicle.  The vehicle system is 12V and a completely separate 24V powered the radio electrics.  This way the radio battery systems could be completely drained and the vehicle would still run, it also made vehicle spares and the selection of trailers easy because they could all be 12V.

There should be a 12V Lucas alternator high up on the RHS of the engine then a massive drum like 24V CAV alternator below it just above the engine mount.  The vehicle system will work with or without the 24V one.

An amazing vehicle,  24Volt Alternator only, double 12 volt starting batteries, vacuum brake booster,  lots of original fittings still attached and still running and driving.  Missing bows and canvas (as per normal) and door uppers missing or sad.
Unregistered and forgotten for years and used to collect firewood from the adjoining Forestry area.

G'day Folks  :)

not sure about that, have vague memory of 12 vehicle generator Lucas C39 and 24 Cav alternator for the radios,C series or Clansman before going to FFR's with US sourced radios.

long time since I had a close look at a FFT

And I suppose I had better fess up that I have a new purchase:

1980 Series 3 1/2 ton Air Portable aka Lightweight  :D
ex-Brunei, 24V FFR believed to be 16-HG-57? I am checking with UK about MOD Reg against Ch No and Contract No.
It is in good condition with new MOD canvas (tilt) it also came with a rusty Sankey trailer.

Still got the 2a GS 6028D (and have a lead on the stretcher Brackets  ;)

cheers

RAAF Registration Number = RRN.
Army Registration number = ARN
Defence Registration Number = DRN

The Ronnie Raafies are still using the same Commonwealth registration number block they were provided in early 1942 by the Department of the Interior! (200000 +......).  'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'

Army 'moved on' in the early 1970s to the 5-digit series, which then progressed to the 6 digit 200000 + numbers, thereby 'reusing' numbers previously issued to RAAF vehicles.

OK any more while I'm in the groove?
It's only been a couple of years I've been trying to get it changed, but 202-169 (in the Member's List and the ARN list) is an Assault Pioneer, not an IIMV

Ok I'll have a look but definition changes in the database aren't as straight forward as writing in the name.

Hi Scott,
I've had 202-243 from its auction early this year. It is still as sale on outside and has all blackout lights and recovery gear all functional. New gardening tools fitted. Seats have been removed from rear and turned into a mobile workshop as I use it for work. Two seats in front, engel in between and uhf fitted. Other than that all left standard including mtz wheels. Lives in Rockhampton QLD. I don't have my member number yet??

Thanks heaps for logging details for me!

Hi,

Cliff has 174-713. It was thought that he had 178-206 until a closer inspection confirmed it to be 713.

Woohoo.  The Camp Commandant has given permission for the purchase of 6x6 Inf. 202-189 from the current owner.
Spent the last few months removing seats and fittings for attachment of a camper body.  Owner says all too expensive considing he already has two caravans.  So it's a win-win for both of us.  We'll be joining the big boys club.  Intend to fit out internally as an Offroad Camp vehicle.
attached photo from Auction time in Brisbane.    Not on the ARN list on the website yet.

Congrats on the 6x6. What a choice you have when going on an event.

In 300 years the unstoppable march of ambulance chasers and Liability laws will mean everyone is plugged in to the web and tied to their lounge to avoid accidents - only robots will move around.

Have recently purchased and registered ARN 202-189 which is a 6x6 Bushranger Hardtop INF Carrier.
Can I enquire when it might get listed onto the Perentie Database ?
Then AussieJeepster can list it as owned by Member 384 please.

1st answer, Yes.
2nd answer, all seating removed and stored so I can use it for camping.
Sit there and you'd be hanging on like buggery.
Can offer the co-pilots seat though.
Most of my buddies wont ride with me.  don't know why.

Just realised I haven't updated my collection records for years.

Will have to get onto it as I have only a few vehicles these days - all the ones I intend to keep long term.

Cheers
