Title: FFR interior light - red + white
Post by: Carzee on January 15, 2013, 06:45:34 PM
Ok, I would like to see a photo of an original overhead half tac, half white light. I have seen a trailer-type number plate light used on a home made bracket but thought it unoriginal...?
Anyone got the real deal or a clue in a CES drawings book or something?

Thank you both very much. Excellent help, a mile of progress. Helps to know what you're looking for when you're at the trash n treasures etc.

I have a bracket that I forgot to include with my series 3 when I sold it (found recently).  Yours if you need it, but no lens, just the bracket, base and switch.

On Grover the power lead rand down the inside of the canopy hoop, I think it was a purple wire, but I may be wrong.

Yep purple wire ran inside middle hoop down passenger side then inside top cowling of tub to front of tub then down through the holes for distribution box cables etc, from there I'll just have to check again as to where it picked up power

cheers
Scott

When I had my FFR, the wire run was the same as Scotts - and I remember it was purple (that was about 7 years ago!)

So the toggle sw is 3 way -- centre = red and white both off, red = on, and white = on?

Richard I sent you a REMLR shop email but forgot about this light to add in.

the easy way to describe the switch at the shop "ON-OFF-ON" or "3 way centre off"

Yes 3 way switch, red faces the front.

Cheers

I got the shop email, if you want the light i'll post it with it :)  Waiting to hear if we still have any tac plate holders though.  As our supplier stopped making them.

Are you talking a Series FFR, or Perentie FFR?

These pics are of a Perentie FFR interior light and switch. The Survey FFR hardtop also has the same lighting inside. The white light is a Hella 1401 (http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogue.pl?flcmd=preview&flmaint=1012), while the red is also a Hella lamp, but no longer listed in their catalog.

Thx for the pics Tony.

I was looking at Series 2 and 3. But the 110 is interesting too. I think the wiring job was better done :)
The 110 certainly gets much bigger lights; maybe OHS factors kicking in.
