Does anyone know what happened to this guy? I got a canopy for a 109 Series IIa from him a little while back but he seems to have just disappeared.
-
I've been trying to find him as well but no luck, old face book link is also no good ( https://www.facebook.com/landroverhoodsredearthvalley).
Do you know if King Canvas ( https://kingcanvas.com.au/ ) make series canvas?
-
He had some bad reviews on Facebook recently.

Is there anyone else who can makes Series 2a canvas to Aus Military spec?

Try this chap;
Please don't ask for information re canopies here on the forum. I don't come here very often. Email me. allen@wilderness-agencies.com.au
Restless Rover.
I did a search of old posts, so Allen may not be around anymore. I bought a 109" GS canopy from him but I have never fitted it, so I can't vouch for the quality.

Mick sent a 2a shorty canvas to Robco as a template. Not sure how that project is progressing
-
Progressing slowly Boxy!
I sent them an original 109 canvas as well for them to use as a template.
They made one up but unfortunately there were a few issues.
So they have agreed to remake it.
The major problem was that the canopy was too short for the vehicle by about 100 mm.
And we weren’t really happy with their use of plastic Perentie style buckles for the webbing straps. They also used tan webbing and binding instead of the correct green colour.
It turns out that the black brass buckles as used on the originals are hard to find these days. ( If anyone has any source of these, let me know!)
However we might be onto a quantity of them which we will hopefully supply to Robco.
They seem keen to get it correct, obviously we really want the canopies to be as close as possible to the originals.
I was very impressed with the quality of the canvas, hopefully they can work with Mick and myself and we can get a fairly authentic canopy, which will be terrific now that Restless Rover has retired.
Obviously not just for our 2 vehicles, it will be great to see them available for everyone who is chasing one.
I’ll keep this updated, we are currently waiting on a possible source of the buckles to get back to us.
Cheers,
Mike.

Red Earth Valley Canvas owner has been charged with 10 offences with failing to supply after taking peoples money, he only supplied canvas top which was of poor quality he is or should be out of business if QLD law has anything to do with Mr Moorcroft. Steer wheel clear!
-
Mr Carey of Red Earth Valley Canvas has been found guilty by QLD Office of Fair Trading in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court 3 Feb 2023, for 10 counts of wrongly accepting payments from consumers to manufacture and supply Land Rover hoods and canvas then failing to supply. Mr Carey made numerous false claims and he only supplied one order, however the supplied goods were found to be of poor quality and not fit for purpose. He was fined $10,000 and ordered to pay $14,000 compensation. Makes your blood boil these shonks.

Hopefully the customers will get their money back; court orders are often not complied with.

I had a new canvas for an 88 made by Mr Carey, Red Earth valley, got it here to NZ and found it was to big and things did not line up! tried to make contact with no joy whatsoever .. apparently he's been convicted of dodgy dealings, my loss. Thankfully I ordered extra canvas from him to make adjustments.
