Title: 172-559 "Tasman Warrior" w/s
Post by: master chief on May 25, 2012, 04:58:56 PM
Hello All,

This is my other 2A workshop, no plans on a rebuild at the moment just happy using it as my wood/fencing vehicle.

It looks great.
I've seen the side mirrors like that on a number of Workshop vehicles.  Looks like a very practical option.  It does my head in looking at the mirrors on my 2a GS.  The vibrations!
The truck cab is OD.  In service?
How did it get it's name?

I am told the mirrors are off a truck called a ACCO, which by all account were very common in Australia, not that common as i cant find a pair of these any where....

The mirrors were off the Army inters, a very common in service mod to the workshops, The truck cab was fitted by me when i bought it from  the Army in 1992, Tasman Warrior 1985 is carved into the steering wheel, it was a big exercise held in QLD, it also has a warrior painted on the LH guard holding a shield and sword, hence the name.

Juddy,

The V part of the arms and the mount going into the top of the door are the same as the civvy ACCO, the curved arm and the head are peculiar to the Army inters.
I might start a thread on workshop LR brackets etc.
