Title: 1987 Ex Singapore Mil G-Wagen

My brother in Singapore has come across some ex-mil short wheel based soft top g-wagens that they are disposing of to upgrade - anyone know if these have ever been registered in Aus before - thought I did read that they were used at some stage as scout cars in the Australian Military?
 - they look cool but dont want to pull the trigger and be stuck with something cant register here.

They weren't adopted by the ADF.
They were trialled for project Perentie, but guess who won?!
