Title: Alternator from KLR (oil plumbing)
Post by: Swoledad on August 01, 2020, 09:54:58 AM
Hey guys, wasn’t sure whether to post in mech or electrical.

I have just installed a new alternator supplied from KLR.
I notice is has an extra oil feed - tried capping it, but it seems to build up too much pressure for that.
Any idea if I can just plumb it into the oil return?

Attached image for reference. It’s the little black barb. Although mine looks upside down to the pic. The black barb is in the bottom oil return side.

Okay I’ve worked it out. It had been assembled back to front.
Flipped it around, plumbed vacuum, plumbed oil in and oil out. And put a bung on the little Vacuum barb

Yes, the top ports are the vacuum spots.
