Military Police sign is on. I made a canvas cover so I don't attract unwanted attention in transit mode 😁
I also made up a simple insulated drink holder out of an F88 laser pointer case. The plastic box behind it sits on top of the F88 mounts and will be held down by thick cable ties. Makes a great centre console 👍

Looking good Pete

Thanks mate, I appreciate your help.

Nice work Pete!
Cheers Charlie

Thanks Charlie

More pics of the trimcast centre console. Each side is secured to a seat base with three thick pull ties - there's no movement at all

I picked up a snorkel, backout lights/mounts and perspex light cover for $75..... good score :)
Snorkel is done. Blackout lights on the weekend hopefully.
-
Blackout lights are done

I'm going to do slight re-design in the back.
I just bought an AN/GRC-106. It's going front left in the second pic. Both AN/GRC-160's will go on the right side. It'll take a couple of months to finish as the mounts and antenna I need are coming from overseas and heavy freight is understandably slow atm.
-
The 106 is now in.
-
A bling shot from a few weeks ago. Camo light covers are now on the driving lights.
-
Looking good there Pete!
-
Thanks Mike :)
-
That's a nice wagon.
Can I ask where you got the number plates made?
Cheers.

There was a guy on eBay making them at one point. I don’t think he does anymore though.
-
As per my facebook update.
This is the final configuration for the radios.

Very nice!

Mac

Thanks :)

Excellent collection, ready for a show like Warbirds.

Thanks Ross.

I took off the blue driving lights and fitted NOS RFSV driving lights

The VHF radios in the FFR are currently 2x AN/GRC-160, which are ex NATO stock.
Shortly to be installed are 1x AN/GRC-160 and 1x AN/VRC-46; together with the existing AN/GRC-106, will complete the FFR with period ex Australian Army radios.
Happy with that :)

AGAS, Really excellent work - really good post. This is motivating me to get off my _um and try to come up to your standard!

Cheers mate, I appreciate it :)

Reshuffle of radios...
I've removed the AN/GRC-106 (red arrow) from 49-390, as this will now go in my other FFR 49-290. In its place I moved the 2nd AN/GRC-160 from the drivers side.
This layout is more typical of 1 MP Bn.
Cheers.
