Title: Bundy Swim-in
Post by: pop058 on October 28, 2012, 06:56:52 PM
Amid all the confusion about when (if ?) the long weekend in June 2013 is happening. The MJCQ is holding the Bundy Swim-in again.  More details to follow when confirmed

Would the flood have ruined the track work already done on this event? Pity if it has.

For those making thier way to the Bundy Swim-in next weekend  :) Some directions to the property

Travel north from Childers toward Bundaberg along the Isis Highway.

At approximately 20kms from Bundy, you will pass "Cedars Rd." on your left.

Travel another 4 Kms north to "Walkers Rd." and turn left.

There will be "Jeep" signs to follow, but once you turn onto Walkers Rd, follow the tar for about 2.5 kms. Another 1 km on dirt will bring you to "North Hills Rd.". Turn left, follow the road for 600 mts to the cattle grid and follow the track.

Although there are toilets and a shower (thanks Walker family and the MJCQ), try and be as self sufficient as possible. I will bring a (7x4) box trailer of firewood that is available to all. I also have a 44 gal drum cut in half for use as communal fire/cooking pits.

There are cattle on the property, so take care on the way in. It is about 700 mts to where we camped last time.

G'day Pop058  :)

And that trailer load of wood was very well appreciated, it helped level the Van and kept the drum fire going well  ;D

Thanks
