I see one of them turned up on a street in Revesby (NSW) causing some media and local interest. The owner said it was there for some mechanical repairs and then he's going to paint it white with 'camo' and use it in his hire car business - wedding escorts/photos etc....

I think so, as he runs a high end car rental company - all the Rolls,Lambos and Ferraris that Salim Mehajer had at his wedding were provided by this guy - the tank is parked where it is, opposite a repair yard which is tasked to get it operational and convert it with rubber tracks etc to be legal for limited road use - most likely low loaded to near the venue and just driven on road for the event.

It has no engine and something else is going in.  There was a new article about it on TV the other evening.

In the early 1990's i worked for a drilling exploration company and they bought 2 or 3 Centurians - removed the turrets, and (both) engines to fit a Cummins 6bt diesel running a hydraulic pump for the travel motors fitted to the drive train. Then they cut a hole in the belly to run a drill rig through it. The idea was to have a mobile rig to drive into dams or other difficult drill sites.

2 of the turrets and an engine (with a hole in the block) ended up at the now closed Dubbo Military Museum.

Anyway, this bloke appears intent on also ruining some significant historical vehicles. Very sad. If he paid 68 grand for a Cent without an engine, he's a dill.
