Following on from a post I made last year, I still haven't decided what to do. I have a very original Mortar Carrier, only 35,000 k's with the complete log book to back it up. I bought it to convert to a motorhome, but it is so original and apparently rare that I can't quite bring myself to rip it to bits.
If anyone is interested in preserving this, i would be prepared to swap it for a more common model in equivalent condition, or even to sell it for what it owes me.
Alternatively, someone might like to just use the bits I would be taking off to convert another one to a Mortar Carrier. The 'genuineness' wouldn't be there, but cosmetically it would be a Mortar Carrier.
Cheers, Paul

Funny, Carzee, you started me wondering if I won a lottery what I would choose for a motorhome base - it still came out as a 6x6 Perentie!
Garry, by then I should have it home - at present it is still at the mechanics having a complete going-over. Meanwhile, do you want to tell me about yours? PM if you prefer.

If we're talking Lottery wins (a big one), I'd be thinking about one of these (in Auscam):

Progress? There’s some maintenance modules you could drop onto it online at Grays.... swap the rear off and sell that?

Thanks for the heads-up, but I was planning to build my own camper on the back anyway. I was just feeling bad about stripping a rare 6x6 Mortar Carrier. I have started to upgrade the mechanicals so am too far down the track now to swap it for another model, but the rear unit is still intact if anyone wants to convert their 6x6 into a mortar carrier.
Cheers, Paul
