Hi All ,
I'm now in the process of replacing the 2nd clutch in my LRPV. On both occasions a spring located on the clutch plate had collapsed.
Does anyone know if this is relating to the quality standard of the replacement parts or may it be some sort of alignment issue ?
I'd appreciate some feed back gang and opinions on which company supply the better clutch .

Two springs going on two clutches sounds like an alignment issue.
If it is a quality issue it would be isolated to a certain production batch. If your two clutches are the same make/model, check any part/batch numbers on the part or packaging. If they are the same you may have picked up a dodgy batch.

Ive seen broken cushion springs,but a collapsed spring is likely a incorrectly heat treated spring.Has it gone coilbound,or is it just loose in the slot?Misalignment generally causes wear in the spring slots,or breaks the thin steel ,but I cant see a spring breaking because of it.Are all the springs equally loose,or just one? If just one,then its a spring issue.

After some discussion, research , and replies from you guys . My advice is to steer well clear of these British clutch kits and source your clutch from a local supplier, they might be a little more expensive but worth it in the long run.
This last clutch I was supplied by a well known 4WD /Land Rover parts supplier in Melbourne didn't want to know about it even though the vehicle would not have travelled 1000 k's.

I guess this "British" supplied clutch plate was not an original Borg & Beck, more likely an imported (to UK) pattern part. I cannot see that this is a misalignment problem, as you say, a quality issue with the spring. All the springs (I think 5 or 6) work together in the plate. If you have any original plates with centres in good order, it is worth getting them relined locally. I have to do this on the older and rarer vehicles.
