Title: Error 403
Post by: the_grey_ghost on August 09, 2017, 03:31:32 PM
Hi All,

Is anybody having issues when replying to a thread (or creating a new thread) - and inserting multiple photographs?

Each time that I try to reply to a thread (one of my own - "Grey Ghosts Shed") - if I try and add in more than one photo, I get an "Error 403: Access Forbidden" error message. If I remove the additional photo, I can reply to the thread without an issue.

I am running a PC using Windows 7 - I use "flickr" for my photographs.

I have tried using Google Chrome & Firefox but get the same error..  :(

Is it just me? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
GG.

Yes.
There is a limit as to how many photos in a post. Three or four I think.
Just do a few posts instead of just one.

Are you using the Insert Picture button just under the Bold button in the Post Reply page?
You paste a link to your pic, which is hosted on Flikr, and it puts [.img][/img.] on either side?

If so, I had this a while back, about 3 months. I couldn't even post photos in my own thread.

If this is what you are seeing, I couldn't work it out either. It just started working again after a few days.

It was incredibly frustrating. I think it was a temporary issue with permissions on where your pic is hosted as I was able to move some of mine to Google Photos and it worked for a while, until my normal host started working again.

As an alternative, you can always click the Attachments and Other Options button below the reply text box and use the Attach:Browse option to post it directly to the forum. Harder to get your post laid out nicely, and you have to have the pic on your PC, but its a workaround until something changes.

Dredging this back up, does the error still happen?  there was a back end setting issue that my host had to fix.  I couldn't even upload updates to the website for a time there!

Yes, it has been ok for me.
I did find that I couldn't embed more than 3 links on a page, as I found when linking the Inter manuals here. http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?topic=5176.msg51344#msg51344 (http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?topic=5176.msg51344#msg51344)

I'm thinking this is probably part of the forum restrictions to stop spammers, though.

I will see if I can find such a setting to change!
