Title: PRC 77 Tuning

I have a brand new PRC77 that came from a factory that disposed of surplus stock. Unfortunately this means it is fully functional but the final tuning had not been done so it is off frequency.

I think I can fix this using the limited technical kit I have but I am wondering if there is an ex-RAEME or similar tech who can do it for me or guide me on the process?

Are you on facebook Howard ?  If so, try the ex-REAME groups on there. The RAAF also looked after the 77 sets, so you could try their techs.

Thanks Peter. I know of that site but I find setting up the mechanical parts of the tuning on these sets to be a bit of a black art. I recently spent about five months on and off trying to set up an RT524 without any luck despite having the service manuals. It just did not make sense so in the end I opened up my set and copied all the alignment settings on the gears to the one I was repairing and it worked!
With the 77 set I am thinking I will feed a signal in and try aligning the two mechanical tuning settings for best signal response at the bottom and the top of the range alternately. However I was hoping someone could tell me the best/easiest way to get it on frequency.
