I am in canada and want to put a soft top on my 59 88 , just wondering where i can find the same top that are on the early military 2a 88s . I know Exmoor trim makes some tops but I really like the military ones , can someone point me in a direction I can buy a used or new one ....cheers

The Australian military hoods have side and rear window flaps that are open (i.e. no membrane) this may not be what you need in Canada during winter.
The early series 2 88"are essentially the same as the later types one option is to get a UK hood for an FFR. (Apparently one difference is the number of hooks above the screen)
If you don't already have the bows, door top frame/seals and the windscreen top bracket. These are all available as reproductions from:

Your other option is to contact Rupert at Australian Canvas who posted to this forum recently stating that he has been making Land Rover hoods including military for decades. If you ask for a special he may even do an Australian military design using a plastic membrane under the canvas flap. Its worth asking the question at least. We cant give a recommendation as we haven't yet seen one of his products. info@austcanvasco.com.au

Thank you very much , my current rover is my daily driver and has a hard top , the one iam building is going to be summer only .iam not really worried about a membrane and I like the side covers . thank you again
