so i've now got 2 slow leaks on the stock zxl's.... yeah I can replace the tubes but I'm sure next time I drop pressures it's gunna happen again. i may be out of step with some here but in my mind tubes belong on bicycles, not trucks. so bugger it - i wanna get rid of them... rather than running the gauntlet with putting tubeless on the stock perentie rims I wanna get a set of wolf (tubeless) rims and paint them olive drab so they look *almost* original - i'll keep the standard perentie rims for anzac day, etc.
for now i'll put the zxl's on the new wolf rims, until funds permit moving to some bfg's or similar.
so.... has anyone bought new wolf rims? I know you can get them in primer - but can you get them pre painted in olive drab? if not - where can I get some olive drab spray cans? anyone powder coated them?
open to suggestions!

All Wolf Land Rover Rims, come black. Land Rover do supply the UK MOD with Green painted ones. Not sure if you can get olive drab in powder coat, but someone might be able to get a close match, if not most motor paint shops will have olive drab in the system.

I wouldn't powder coat them. Steel wheels flex. Powdercoat doesn't. Fine hairline cracks develop which allows ingress of moisture.
I'd give them a light sand with fine wet and dry and spray them with Protec Camouflage Green.

thanks guys...
now on the hunt for wolf rims. Best price I've found so far is 180 a rim. seems crazy considering you can get dynamic or sunraysia's for about 60 a rim. Am I shopping in the wrong places? suggestions?

Just a cost cutting practical suggestion - why not use readily available factory steel LR D1 rims?
Stronger & wider than defender rims and tubeless, paint them if you want or leave them silver - looks good either way

I did not know the Genuine D1 Steel rims were stronger than the Wolf Rims> what are they rated at?

They aren't stronger than Wolf rims; and he never said they were. They would be stronger than Defender 110 rims, I've never seen an official rating - although I remember reading 1650kg on a forum years ago.

From how it is worded it sounded like he was saying they were stronger, and he did say Defender rims, so easy to think that. Thanks for clarifying the wording.

but I think the wolf rims look more "authentic" than the d1 rims - those triangle cutouts just don't sit right with me.
just got a quote to get the rims painted - 170 bucks a rim!! madness. for that money i guess i'll be out in the paddock with some rattle cans and just put up with any dust or bird sht or whatever lands on them
