Title: Asbestos inside RFSV lockers?
Post by: mac101 on June 03, 2016, 09:45:21 PM
I remember reading the general asbestos warning on the Graysonline website and assumed it was for brake pads or some electrical part but yesterday I was drilling rivets (yes-about 50 per side) to remove the lockers from the back of my LR and the insides looked very uniformly white.  I wondered if the inside of these lockers could have been coated with asbestos then painted.  I remember asking someone at KLR about the lockers and they said it was just oxidation of the metal.  Anyone with lockers in similar condition?  Any thoughts on an asbestos coating inside the lockers?  I guess I should test it and find out.

X3 for oxidation. I wouldn't breathe any in, but no chance of asbestosis there.

Maybe some anti-rattle closed cell foam. Maybe it was an attempt at making a beer esky. But no way it'd be A. No way.
