A mate just picked up a 2a workshop that has an The series 3 rover 6 fitted.
From the look of the conversion I'm pretty sure it was done in service.
Anyone heard of this before.
ARN 113-788 was a mechanics WS so they would have had the parts and know how to do this.
Ex-22 Cstn.
Any input would be great.

I think this was discussed in a previous post.
It looked like there was no brake booster in the photo I saw.
A land rover six is an odd conversion to do for joe public, but you make a good point about it possibly being in service. It might have been a training exercise maybe? Don't know how the army system would handle it!
From memory, and in theory, it should have bigger brakes and booster and the firewall should be different.
Did the production sixes have Rover or Salisbury diffs? If it's a rover one, I'd be a tad worried about axles!

S3 had Salisbury - are you worried because of the vastly increased power over the 4 cyl ? :D

I used to have a 4cyl 2A LWB with a Rover diff and it did axles on a regular basis, generally at the most inopportune time. I was wondering with this conversion if the diff had been changed to a Salisbury to match the 6 cyl donk.

No civi would do this.LOL.I will ask around my RAEME peers of that era to find more info.

The civi 2A's had 6 cyl's and Rover diff's.

there were several series 3 cab chassis bought and as the platform was ordered separate to make up the ces for the vehicle comprised of the following track utility, platform , canopy and accessories.

40 S3 MV's I believe. Delivered as a Cab chassis and ex 2A backs/platforms fitted. I have 1 of these in my collection.

yes seen one in late eighties at enoggera barracks all the did was take body off and put it on the cab chassis
