Hi Mick,
Are you talking about the XY 4x4 utes ?
Pete
-
G'day Pete,
No just the CL vehicle , 2 x4 . I'm not sure if they had a white roof or not, they were a bit before my time.
What do you know ?
Cheers,
Mick

Not much I'm afraid. They come up on ebay from time to time.
There's an original XP ute for sale at the moment - roof appears to be same as body.

Hi Pete,
That one has been for sale sometime. I'm looking at one in original army livery. I was just interested in numbers known that still exist and if there were any photo's out there amongst the forum.
I'd aim to restore it to its soldering days.
Cheers ,
Mick

Bandiana has one of many of these types. there is a lot in the ARN books, but i;ve not had the time to do them all yet.
-
No worries Phoenix,
I'll post some pic's when I can and see if I can sort a ARN. I don't think Bandiana have a XY ?
Cheers,
Mick

Actually I think you are right, I don't recall seeing an XY either on display or in storage.
There are some xy's on the ARN lists already, but far from all of them. Have a look in the ford section http://remlr.com/ARN/ARN-ford.php

Hi Phoenix,
here are some more details of my XY Falcon - I finally picked her up.

Contract no. 550853
Delivery date: 10/71
chassis no. JG40LM34586C

Thanks Mate,
how`s this , it still has the Dymo Label above the wheel arch. Who would of thought that would still be there 40+ years later :)
Unreal.

Don't know about what is in storage but, IIRC the only Ford ute on display is an XP

Do we have the necessary BBB images for finding the ARN or will I have to visit the AWM?
-
Hi Ross,
If you could check out AWM for me it would be terrific, ARN, any in service pic's , unit ID , etc .
I was thinking of setting her up a a MP car with a cage on the back so any photo's of those would be fabulous.
Keep up your good work :-)
Cheers,
Mick

Top find Mick!
Nice to see one saved and preserved, well done! :D

Carzee, not 100% sure, I will look. I do already have quite an ARN wish list of photos (just need the time to transcribe them plus what I have). Maybe a good page for the Wiki, arn pages needing photographing.
I know some of the joop boys photographed them ALL and set themselves up as vehicle research for hire, not sure what happened but I think they went dark and certainly were not sharing photos.
-
ok, ARN 179-483 is close with chassis 40LM34598C however I have none of the preceeding pages which presumably have more XY's. so a 178 or 179 arn is the closest I have so far.
Ross, list of wanted ARN's if you ever have a spare day of page flipping! http://www.remlr.com/wiki/index.php?title=ARN_BBB_Pages_Wanted

Well used to be atime I had a tiny Sony digicam 5mp that was the size of a Mars bar. Its long gone to god. It could be tricky as they say.
