G'day all,
Some of you may have seen that I posted a photo of 175-180 in the 'spotted' section some weeks ago. Well it just so happens that the Landy now belongs to me ;D
Apparently it served with ANZUK forces and I believe that entails being deployed to Singapore in roughly 1969? Perhaps someone could fill me in there.

The body is very rough, but due to living in Canberra for some time apparently, rust has not affected it a great deal, with only minor flakes in the rear crossmember, but as for the majority of the chassis, a quick wipe with a finger and it comes up shiny black. Im yet to blast it with the gerni and hopefully bring back some OD, I'm keen to see the result of cleaning up the TAC plate as there is evidence of some markings.

Most military fittings are still in place, and I was lucky to score the original jerry can holders in the deal. The storage box is still between the seats and the pioneer tool holders are still behind the seats.

And lastly, a family photo.

Thanks,

Thanks for the photos of that FFT & tool brackets. Its looks like the grey colour the navy uses.
-
I love family photo's....sniff.

I need to make some Jerry Can holders for my FFT. Could you please post some pcs of your holders and where they were fitted?
Thanks,
Howard

Look on the REMLR website
(http://remlr.com/photos/lrprpics/4-9449.jpg)
You could start with SIII ones, remove the convoy lamp brackets and move the mountings
-
I've looked there but can't find the info I am after - the detail of the holders and how they are mounted to the FFT.
Apologies for thread hijacking...

I was having a look under Karl whilst stripping the brakes and noticed this little yellow plastic plate, I suspect it has something to do with the trailer socket? I just wanted to know if its original and if its a common thing to find.

Yep, I had it on my Series 3 FFR and on my No5 Trailer, and on my current engineers trailer. Not sure if its under the Perentie - haven't looked yet. There is normally a terminal block next to it with the wires coming in from the loom, and the wires out to the trailer socket.

The yellow plate is origional, and your vehicle didnt need many wiring repairs there. As a Crafty these things were ripped of most vehicles I worked on and thrown away,as they were a pain whilst working under blackout conditions.(I wasnt alone in removing them, everyone who worked on them did the same).I had forgotten about them until I saw the photo. It should show what wire goes wher in the terminal block.
