anybody know anything about this, saw it on gumtree looking at it for my son's survey .SSB Teleradio AWA 110H

Same band width as the codan maybe a little older by 5 to 10 years would be a comparable substitute

It looks like one that a friend has in an 80" Landy. His is only 25 watt. They are also used as marine radios for costal waters, including fishing fleets and other maritime users who don't need the high power units of international cruising or shipping.
The last channel is a universal maritime emergency channel.
My assessment of the channels as I can read them is listed in the other thread, but I'll repeat it below. (sorry if I have read any channels incorrectly)
1 upper 2044 DoD worldwide
1 lower 2069 DoD Australian waters
2 upper 2201 various local marine transmitters
3 upper 25254 Marine Rescue
4 upper 4134 NSW Police / VCG Qld
4 lower 4426 NSW Police middle head/ VCG Qld
5 upper 6125 marine rescue inc AMSA
6 upper 4125 marine rescue inc AMSA
7 emergency 2182 inc AMSA
It is possible that some of the frequencies are also allocated to the Land Mobile Service for inland use because most of the licences are listed as local coverage and hence at low power.

Howdy. She is a crystal lock HF SSB/AM transceiver. Usable frequencies can be fitted with a little fiddling and tuning (can be a PITA to tune up). Can be used on VKS or ham band with the necessary licence. The crystals will cost more than the radio at around $80 each, 2 are normally required for each channel. one for transmit and one for receive...

Hi all been striped down to a empty shell as it was not working and my son got it only for $25.00, but he has have kept all the guts and put them in storage. The only reason he took guts out was when he tried to direct wired the speaker up it was hard to hear it. So going to put a bigger speaker in it with a volume control in the space and also to conceal the uhf from thieves.
