Title: Series 3 Petrol Tank Bung / Plug Military Land Rover

Hello All,

Does any one have a spare bottom tank Plug / bung and copper gasket that they would like to sell to me?

A vehicle that I am in the process of acquiring is missing the bung and the gasket and I would like to replace them.

Or does anyone know if the parts are still available from a supplier?

My Australian Army Parts book on Page 63 lists the items as:

Item Number 012 Description: Plug, Machine Thread - Fuel Drain
Item Number 013 Description: Gasket, Copper 0.0451 inches, Aperture Diameter by 0.675 Inch; OD by 0.075 Inch Thick. (R243958)

The third photographs show different views of what the genuine part number NRC62 looks like within some parts seller's lists. The genuine part does not look like the military part.

I am happy to pay for the part and postage

Well Hello,

My photographs were stripped off even a single photo was considered too large....

Hmmm maybe a compliation of smaller photos into one ...

Okay the top Left photograph shows where the missing plug belongs. The Top Right photograph shows a plug in place where it belongs.

The bottom row shows different angles of what the original part number NRC62 looks like.

The military version and the part from the suppliers, a civilain version does not look the same.

Hello All,

I posted a message on AULRO about my needing a petrol tank plug and a member from Victoria, John K. supplied me with one.

Scott (FFR Man), if you did find one in your search over the weekend I would still be interested in it as well.

It seems like these plugs are not that easy to come across so a spare one will be handy to have.
