Home again, no problems (but I only had a 4hr drive).
I have made up a mudmap of the Ball Park Caravan Park - showing the tent areas etc - hopefully it will be of help to other newbies in the years ahead.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-zHKzvL1QmUM/UyVzr2vessI/AAAAAAAAFzM/Irwt7PMEfAs/w1278-h898-no/ball-park-mud-map.jpg (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-zHKzvL1QmUM/UyVzr2vessI/AAAAAAAAFzM/Irwt7PMEfAs/w1278-h898-no/ball-park-mud-map.jpg)
Also began to process the photos.
Anyone else doing the same? Lets see them...
Here's a 106 'round' (chromed for a mess keepsake) shown at the Saturday swap (S Line in bkgrd)

[[ This is a good spot to send out a Thank You to FFRman for the copy of the 106 Parts Scale too. ]]

correct round mirror on a Series 2A 88in... (I am in the market - I had them on Castrol and I like them)

There were repro round ww2 jeep mirrors on sale but that would be cheating.

110 FFR.
Plain paint! Early version bar!
This rare Landy was purchased recently by Wayne, and it turned out he lives about 1km from my home. He arrived late on Thursday and really liked the event. Hooked.
Unfortunately I have not yet had time to look into the ARN.

I was on the lookout for another M1 helmet, and Mr Toole had one, almost new.
In keeping with the Swim In theme, it happened to be RAN issue. At a guess...

This a pic of the stalls of the swap. Roughly half aren't in the pic.
Toole's was near the green gazebo and had a lot of Australian ex-mil gear. I'd really liked to have picked up another cot, canvas, folding. Sold out of chair millionaires, but he said a good guide price was $60 to $70 depending. Helmets.. $100 give or take.

The Ho Hars CP, LRZ, Ball Park.
We had a REMLR flag there and one with Jeff and Diana at Bindaree Caravan Park and one at my tent too, up near the Public Pool. Bindaree allows wood fires. Ball Park allows only gas cookers but has nice electric bbqs and tables under shelters.
Since I was new to Ball Park, and since there were only one or two Land-Rovers when I arrived on Monday, I camped up the other end where there was plenty of shady trees and the ice bin/shop. Unluckily that end also featured a trad jazz band one night and kids noises etc most nights, as well as an occasional jeep or dodge driving with blackouts. I didn't think the kids in the mix made for a safe place to try that out (kids were up til late). They could've done that over in the scrub tracks.
Next year - the LR Zone (which I will mark on the Ball Park map for other newbs).

This is Pedr's camp at sun up. Pedr (REMLR 038) damaged a windscreen on the trip from SA. Pedr later took his No 5 out 'fishing'...

Very Nice 90, But its not a Wolf...
-
Wolf... I checked google before I posted. Lol. When I checked Landrover 90 MOD it put up virtually the same pics.
Perhaps we should get a page to set out the differences...

They do look alike, Hard top should be firberglass, spare wheel should be on lefthand side of rear body. should have larger type wing side vents.

Theres a few clues as to it not being a Wolf, and unless the owner had used it in the UK for over a year, it would be a Illegal Import.
Still it looks very good, shame we never had a Perentie SWB. ummmmmmmmmmm
-
Hi there all
that is a very nice hardtop ........ although not original would look great on a Perentie
-
Thats the one I was going to get you wayne...

Re the Green 110, the first hundred or so Perentie 110's were all plain green before the camouflage scheme started, I need to look up the precise number.

Don't you just love the anoracks counting rivets. One participant went out of his way to inform me that the pick on this ex-Brit 90 was an Australian type and not a Brit one.
The owner tells me that while it doesn't have the metal reinforcing on the handle, it is actually the pick and handle that came out with the vehicle ex-UK. The metal bit on the handles were replaced with a plastic reinforcing in later supply contracts and the wooden handles are actually better and more durable.

The owl eyes man (local) had both s2A and s3 but not simultaneously. He changed the vehicles on 'display' and brought over a series of vehicles and items incl. a Bren Gun Carrier, WS trailer, etc
