There was another Rapier launcher sold on a truck sales website in Australia about a year ago.
Wasn't the same one. I think it was a different model.
How many different rapier launchers were there I wonder?

Being as there is only one of these in australia, of only a few ever made, it is most likely the same one.  I did hear a whisper that it was fully functional when it arrived, much to the alarm of customs etc.

I have a good photo of it form bandiana / corowa somewhere.

Just try to get something like that through Australian Customs these days.

Even the people who used to do it as commercial traders in armour have mostly given up.

Its coming to something when it gets like this....

It's very worring the use of tanks, and heavy artillery in modern crime.

As I understand it, the Rapier launcher was semi-functional when it arrived in Australia, complete with all import documents, and so on: all very legal, or so the owner/importer thought. By semi functional, I mean the launcher table rotated and elevated, but there was no internals for laying/launching, so effectively 'inert', as per the documents. Customs took a dim view, and called in Army, who then 'rendered' it by removing all manner of electronics, comms etc, and carried them away to places unknown. It took considerable time for the Rapier to be released to the owner and in a far less functional state.

He then set to work replacing many of the removed bits.
