G’day! Lightweight owner…
« on: June 03, 2022, 01:55:51 PM »
G’day all. Lightweight SIII owner here (Ex Commandos Signals FFR, service in Norway with NATO), plus an Australian No5 trailer. Interested in all kinds of military hardware and radios (not badges, hats and old socks!). Recently revived the Lightweight as the pinion gearbox input bearing was growling and it sat in the shed for over 5 years! Back to life now.
Had a past crack at Austin Champ restoration, but sold it on part completed.
Mostly over on AULRO with generic SIII mechanical stuff but thought I’d pop over here too for a more military experience!
Cheers,
Dave

Ha. Very similar!
Wondering where?
Looks FFR too. Canvas from a SIII, I unpicked the black vinyl squares from mine at the front - apparently splash guards for fuel from the normal fuel tanks, Lightweight’s are under the seats…
