Curious to note that the auction listings for the NT auction are now listing No5 Trailers as "No 5 1/2 Tonne Trailers"!  ;D Hooray, no more "Cargo 1.8x1.3m" trailers. Has someone had a word in their ears, or do Australian Frontline Machinery read the REMLR forum.

And after the Bouquets, now the Brickbats. They have 5 Cook's 750kg trailers listed. Strangely, they are consecutively listed as Mobility Class 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. An MC6 trailer must be extraordinarily difficult to tow on even the best quality roads.  :(

I would be amazed if they do not read the forums given we are precisely their market audience!

I did send them an email about No.5 trailers, so that may have helped the change in name.

I missed the end of today's auctions but I did save a couple in my watch list, surveillance 4x4 made $15k, two  FFR's both  $8k, 6x6 $15k, cooks trailer $1800

So prices are starting to settle down, maybe the traders realise it's a very small market, farmers don't really want them as their main vehicle just as a second, too rough for tour operators.....

So if they come down another couple of grand they will be good value! then I might just have to think seriously

cheers

Just picked mine up! 1988 110...  155k on the clock. Passed road worthy first time (apart from fitting new drivers side wing indicator - cover missing and bulb blown, all good). Great wagon... now looking for a few add on bits and rear bench seats (lower part, have the backs, just need the base cushions)... If you know of any, please let me know. Also wouldn't mind a winch.
Cousins in Oxley (Qld) bought 12 in the first round in Sydney and are trying to flog them off for $18 - $27K... I paid $8k.... so they're on for a MAJOR loss!
Be good to hear from you if you know about parts... or even appropriate battalion marks ( it has a chicken stenciled on the side!).
Cheers,
Stripey

Hi there

I also bought mine from Cousins (48 005) - and they are open to offers with warrantee, and they are keen to move them on..........

PS - it wasn't worth my efforts/gambling going to auction with the money I paid for a vehicle with rego-roadworthy & warrantee - they are a good organisation to deal with.

Welcome Stripey, good to hear from you.

That marking would actually be a Rooster methinks. I'm trying to find the reference I saw.

The Mack Cement mixer also featured "Chook Rampant" (as the Heraldry experts might say). Is that the mascot for 21 Construction Battalion?
