REMLR.COM FORUM RULESBreaking rules result in punishments. There are several types of punishments:
1.
Warning – An Administrator or Moderator will determine whether you knew what you were doing was wrong or whether a warning is necessary to explain it to you. The Administrator does not have to give a warning and may issue an immediate Temporary or Permanent Ban.
2.
Temporary Ban - This is where your forum account is temporarily suspended for one month by the Administrator. A Moderator may recommend a Temporary Ban.
3.
Permanent Ban - This is where your forum account is permanently suspended by the Administrator. A Moderator may recommend a Permanent Ban.
The following rules list the most
serious violations:
1.
No Hacking - This should go without saying, but you are not permitted to hack the forum. Guessing someone else's password and succeeding counts as hacking.
Penalty - Members who hack will be permanently banned without warning.
2.
No Spamming - Spamming is not allowed, and is defined as a post or multiple posts that contains advertising, political or discriminatory meaning.
Penalty - Members who spam will be permanently banned without warning.
3.
No Discrimination - You may not insult members based on their religion, race, sex, political beliefs, or whether they are gay or straight. This is worse than flaming, because it also hurts other members of the board who fall into the category your insult. REMLR.COM is a place where everyone is equal, and discrimination will NOT be tolerated!
Penalty - Members who discriminate will be permanently banned without warning.
4.
No Bullying - Do not pick on other members. The worst kind of bullying is where new members are picked on. This hurts the member as well as the forum.
Penalty - Members who bully will be banned for a month on the first offence, and permanently banned on the second offence without warning.
5.
No Flaming - Flaming harms the nice atmosphere of REMLR.COM. It also causes thread's to go off topic, and most importantly, it hurts the person being flamed. The victim may defend themselves against any accusations made to them, but may not make any additional accusations to the flamer (which also counts as flaming).
Penalty - Members who flame will be temporarily banned for one month. A second offence will result in a permanent ban without warning.
6.
No Profanity or Obscene Content - Such content does not belong on REMLR.COM. A censor system is in place as a backup. If you see words in your post being replaced with ****, you have done something wrong. Please edit your post and tone it down. To edit a post, click the "modify" button at the top right of your post.
Cheating the censor system is against the rules.
Penalty - Members who cheat the sensor will be warned, Subsequent offences will earn a one month ban without warning.
The following lists the

Advertising Guidelines – There are 4 categories of advertising that have been defined by the committee. The bounds of which are defined in each category. These also apply to private messages.

- Commercial (full-time commerce) - Members who make a living from their business: May advertise in the Suppliers Shed and/or on the vendor thread in the Registrants Area.
- Non Commercial (part-time commerce) - Members who derive a secondary income from ebay, Gumtree etc sales: May advertise in the Suppliers Shed and/or on the vendor thread in the Registrants Area.
- Member Sales (hobby) - Members who make 'pocket money' from replicating/selling/wrecking parts etc. A Hobby Member sale would not have an associated public premesises and website advertising the same goods for sale: May Advertise in for sale section.
- Recommendations and Supply - Services, Products and Suppliers recommended by members: Is Allowed but not for your own shop. If for your own shop you may post a link to the thread in the vendors area.
2.
No Illegal Activity - You are not allowed to break the law using REMLR.COM. This can get REMLR.COM into legal trouble. Posting links to internet sites that are either illegal, or solicit illegal activity counts as a violation of this rule.
Penalty – First offence, Warning. Second offence, Temporary Ban for one month. Third offence, Permanently Banned.
3.
No Posting Personal Info - You may not post your personal information such as full name with date of birth, telephone number , email address , or street address on REMLR.COM forum. You may do so by Private message. This goes for your own, or another person's information.
Penalty – First offence, Warning. Second offence, Temporary Ban for one month.
4.
Sales - You may personally sell items on the forum in the for sale area. The committee retains the right to suspend that privilege if it is seen that a member is abusing it, or using it for commercial purposes without prior approval of the committee.
5.
"What's it Worth" - Discussion of the value of items is to be restricted to the Registrants Only area of the forum, with no exceptions.
Penalty – First offence, Warning. Second offence, Temporary Ban for one month.
6.
Registrants Private Area - All registrants will have access to this area, however their email in their profile, and their REMLR number must match the details in the REMLR database and remain accurate to reflect that.
