Great pics, looks like this one needs saving before it gets any worse
-
Great information Scott.
All the Topo mods should be photographed in detail, documented and placed on the REMLR website for future reference.
It appears the the Topos used the FFT/FFW jerry can holders which sit higher then the standard cookie cutters. This necessitated the recessing of the tail lights to allow the mounting of jerry cans. Why they didn't mount the holders lower is a mystery as it would have been a lot easier than cutting the bodywork and recessing the tail lights.
-
I believe part of the reason for the recessed taillights, like many of the other mods, as to minimise the damage to the vehicles while pushing through virgin scrub, less to catch on etc.
-
That Land Rover has deteriorated somewhat since I saw it last :(, but anyway it does belong to him and not me, cheers Dennis :)
-
does any one know what the ces for this vehicle contained ie dimmensions for worktable and other ancillary items including specific items unique to this vehicle.
-
Unfortunately we do not know the CES for the Topo survey, only what we can discern from photos.
-
Recessed lights were to enable jerry cans to fit in the holders on the rear as per LRPV, at least thats what I understand. Even with the lights set horizontally like the series 3 the protective surround would still clash with the top of the jerry can

There was one of these being wrecked in Adelaide about 20 years ago, and I managed to get the data plates off it, but someone nicked em!! I seem to remember the glass in one or some of the windows was armoured, always wondered why, but never found out. Unfortunately it was before I started photographing everything I saw!!!!!

112 833 is going to get the treatment once I return from Sydney with trailers in about three weeks time. Any info on them would be appreciated. I'll need to rebuild the side barwork but almost everything else is there. Pic of 112 830 (http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t30/lieutenantrover/TopoSurvey1_zps3b85a9db.jpg)(http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t30/lieutenantrover/112830topo_zps3de2ca5c.jpg)(http://(http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t30/lieutenantrover/TopoSurvey2_zpsdb16c52e.jpg)

As requested, here are my photos of 114 102, taken late last year at Toolern Vale, part of Ian's collection.
Apologies for the quality, they were taken on my phone as the sun was setting!
From the front, showing the extra front crossmember and the chaff guard,
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0485.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0485.jpg.html)
Passenger side front wing showing attatchment of the scrub bar,
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0484.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0484.jpg.html)
And the Drivers side, showing tropical roof, Battery compartment (being held closed by the pitchfork!) scrub bars, fuel tank protection plate and of course, lots of lichen 8)
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0488.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0488.jpg.html)

Next 3,
Passenger side door, showing canvas stowage.
Does anyone know what this was for?
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0480.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0480.jpg.html)
Passenger side switch panel, with battery source selector,
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0483.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0483.jpg.html)
And a closer look at the scrub bar, as well as a repair patch(?)
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0479.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0479.jpg.html)

And 3 more,
Rear view, showing cable reel bracket, Door TAC sign holders and FFT Jerry can holders.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0492.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0492.jpg.html)
Inside view, hard to be sure, but I'd be pretty confident that the 4 troop seats were fitted when it left service. The thing behind the drivers set is a fuel tank, that I don't thinkk has anything to do with the vehicle.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0493.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0493.jpg.html)
Another inside view, showing the roof lights and the jerry can bracket in the centre of the tub, as fitted to the GS vehicles.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0494.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0494.jpg.html)

Some more rear detail,
The FFT jerry can holders are mounted on the outboard of the rear cross member, probably to keep the door clear.
This means that the NATO socket needs to be mounted inboard, instead of on the chassis as per the FFT.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0495.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0495.jpg.html)
Instead of mounting the ARN plate on the door, it was mounted on the chassis, so the number plate light needed a special bracket as well,
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0497.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0497.jpg.html)
Here's a shot of the cable reel holder, the reel is held on with a tail gate anti luce clip.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0496.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0496.jpg.html)
-
And that's about it, I do have one more, the Aux battery stowage.
Very well made, I like the wheels it rolls out on.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0490.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0490.jpg.html)
I hope these are useful, this vehicle is pretty much in the condition that it left service in, when it was auctioned off.
Cheers,
Mike.

Cheers Anthony (Tony) Egretz 368
-
yes it was

I've got a strange vehicle table that I have never worked out how to mount or what it is for. Could be what you are talking about. I will post a photo tomorrow.

That reminds me Howard,
I've had this in the shed for years, does anyone reconnise it?
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0671.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0671.jpg.html)
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0672.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0672.jpg.html)
It is designed to mount on about a 30 angle, and I have never been able to find any where on the Land Rover where it could go. Is looks like it is designed to hold documents etc, with the spring running along the top.
Length is 42" or 1065mm, height is 12" or 302mm. The clamps span 28mm fully open, down to 22mm fully closed, so it mounts to something at least 22mm thick.
(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk135/pinegrove_photo/Land%20Rover/DSC_0674.jpg) (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/pinegrove_photo/media/Land%20Rover/DSC_0674.jpg.html)
It looked unused when I picked it up years ago, and was always olive drab. It does not have any bronze green, so I guess that makes it mid 60s and on.
I have always wondered what this was, will be interesting to find out, I'm sure that it is something really obvious that I've missed!
Cheers,
Mike.

Just came in from taking photos and ready to post when I saw Mike's latest. That is exactly the same as the table I have - bought it from Aussie Disposals at their warehouse about 15 years ago and have never been able to figure out what it is for or how it is mounted.
Well at least two of us have one! Hopefully someone will put us out of our misery :)

there are quite a few of these tables at a disposals not far from me, I've never worked out what they are for, if anyone wants one PM me and I'll go buy a few - if they're any good that is
-
How about that.
The one that I have has no stock numbers to identify it either.
Hopefully someone will know what they are, otherwise we will have to make something up......
-
Just bringing this back to the top, has anyone seen one of these tables in use?
-
could you find out a price for them please
