:) welcome to the forum Rodney, glad the info you needed is stashed here and able to be found by newcomers easily.
Please ask any questions, don't be afraid, we've all been at the beginning like you and I hope you enjoy the journey -  its is a great thing for your spare time just as you say.

As for the hunting down of a unit for sale, take your time and be prepared to travel...  8)

Thanks Carzee. Nothing wrong with a bit of travel. My mum & dad use to have these when I was a kid. I wish they kept them.

Just to get you started on your quest for a military Landy.

This is from Dennis' diary -after looking over a 88in GS on a property:

"The farmer... gave Graham and I an ultimatum: 'Two weeks' he said, 'or I'll dig a hole and push it in!'. "

16 days later....

"The next problem was to get hold of a vehicle float; the two week deadline was now two days past, and it was May 10th 1999. On the way over to the farm Graham reassured me saying, 'That farmer won't be in a hurry to dig a hole big enough to put a Land-Rover in'. And my other mate, John (Series 3 109" Isuzu Diesel wagon owner), even more reassuringly, agreed and said, 'Anyway, we can dig it out again!'."

I got a series II Command Recon for sale. She's pretty original and in need of a new home.
Problem is she's in WA.
