Steam & Traction

For those who dont know, the steam and traction preservation society has a huge collection of steam and traction stuff (funny that!)
and is based at Booleroo Centre SA, they have "rally days" where some massive gear is sometimes brought out, catch one if you can theyre great.

Of interest the bloke that owns that jeep owns a jeep that is pretty far gone, its an earlier war build and it was being used as a dog house when he got it, on the inside of the lower metal panel under the windscreen (part of windscreen frame I believe) is some grafitti of interest..  it has had "Lae" and I believe also "Salamaua" carved into the metal..

He is aware of this and isnt parting with it, he believes it may be a "vet"

It probably is,and it could be an MA or an early MB or possibly a "Ford Script" I.E. Ford stamped into the rear body panel.

cheers

I havent gone over it too much, Jeeps, although fun to drive, arent in my radar...(the minister for War and Fianance would kill me!   :o  :D )
I'd love one but I'd climb over 50 to get to a better vehicle....   I'm guessing some of you know what I MMMM mean ?! ;D 8)

Maybe next time Im through that way I'll grab a couple shots of the jeep and writing scratched in (there was more) I did have some but blowed if I can find them..

Diana, the fat tyres are because this is the small version for use by dwarves??  and they dont make bar treads in tiny... :) (PS it runs and drives)
