Hi Ross it was a shame I couldn't make corowa, it looked great in the photos posted, it sounds like a couple are converting to 4x4, I can see some advantages, for me I feel the extra set of wheels are a plus in the desert. I would be interested in how your shower has worked out. The travel plans are for 5 weeks from june ish into sth/central simpson and western Qld, may change if I find any interested parties there are a few other more remote tracks of interest. I did install the low coolant level sensor and head temp sender after your posts on the issue. Dave.

Another mod some 6x6 owners maybe interested in, with the hard sides up I have retained the original poly canvas sides (with the addition of fly screens) which roll down when weather/ insects move in, they roll up out of the way with the original straps and have been quite handy.

For people looking for good cheap lighting, I have found the 12v led house/ garden lighting from hardware stores very good & cheap ($15 for4). I use the garden fixtures for interior and camp light and they draw very little current. The other use is the parking lights are inadequate mine stopped working some time ago, went to change globe and the socket had melted, the led fitted nicely and enough light to drive with, I have concerns about being visible to other traffic so these are perfect, on the rear also hard to see for traffic so I used the water proof garden lights with red lens.
