As I said in a previous post I am on my annual pilgrimage to Townsville to catch up with our son and his family, I brought along some home work to do while here. A Lucas wiper motor. As i have about 7 to repair I thought it best to tackle this task while I had nothing else to work on so i grabbed one out of the draw to bring with me The one I grabbed was one I brought off E,bay some time ago that was seized, but had been partly pulled apart and partlyand cleaned to a small degree by the previous owner. This task appears a lot simpler than I first thought. After soaking all the gears over night in a mixture of WD40 and hand cleaner I took to every thing with a 240 wet & dry paper and the gears with a neadle file everything now turns freely and can not wait for the new brushers to arrive hopefully tomorrow to do the finally assembley and test.
I am useing lanolin grease where needed.
