I wonder what the modification plate was for?
Code P1 is for "Tow Coupling modification on vehicle greater than 4.5t GVM".

Ball coupling on the back also appears to have some sort of blue plate.

Wow! You need a mod plate for that?
I'd better see an Automotive Engineer. I've converted my 7 pin round socket to a 7 pin flat.

Could possibly be for the Hayman-Reece type receiver poking out under the front bumper?

Shannon's are obviously well placed to give a valuation guide for this auction due to their extensive insurance assessments, but Haffies do seem to be priced higher than their quoted range:

Not it is not military - has been on ebay all year - started at $45,000 and the guy said he knew cars (boats) and would not take a cent less - obviously no takers - over the next 4 months the buy it now price continued to drop and ended up at $25,000 - still with no takers and the seller still saying he would not take a cent less.  Now it has ended up on Shannons for their estimate which is a bit light but not by much.

The vehicle seems to be in average drivable condition - not great but better than most - the prices of Haffies are going up through.

Sold for $16,500, plus 5% buyers premium.  (BTW the 6.9 Merc fetched $66,000!)
