ARN 174-803 now in QLD
« on: November 06, 2017, 09:16:20 PM »
Hi Guys,

recently picked up 174-803 from a farm near Boggabri & trailered back here to Kilcoy. It is reasonable condition but needs a tidy up, hoping to bring it back to a condition where we can use it next ANZAC day here in Kilcoy for our older Diggers.

It is a "Truck Chassis 3/4 Ton 4x4 GS" probably around 1968 or 1969 with a Chassis Number of 25326903D. yet to confirm if it is an original 2.25 ltr (by Eng No). Any info or pointing me in the right direction as to its origin or use in the ARMY would be greatly appreciated. I have checked the REMLR register but still finding my way around the research tools available.

Cheers,

Barra

I had a look thru my collection of pics and info and I have nothing there as a clue for you.

In the BBB record at the AWM it states the disposal was in Sept/Nov 1979. No real info. Did your Boggabri farmer say how long they had owned 174-803?

FWIW here is a direct link to the AWM scan of the BBB page that includes 174-803:

OK Barra I am jealous. I had 174-431 on my name for a while in 1971. That is no help to you I know but I just thought that I would let you know.
