Cheers for the heads up. I've had a look and I don't see any weld marks on the rail. Here's a couple of photos.

Remnants of something on the left front TAC after a bit of rubbing.

Now what went here? A fixture or just an ID plate?

I thought that too but I've seen gunbuggys with the toolbox on the firewall that have the instruction plate attached to it there.

I think the chassis no plate was there at some stage, from memory your chassis no plate is screwed to the rh front guard beside the tac plate?. The other gb had its chassis no plate on the gearbox tunnel also.

Yes it is screwed over the original one. Thanks. Might have to move it back.

112-655 is obviously different to yours, as mine has a plate with an 'X' indented into it

cheers Dennis :)
ps the storage box on 112-655 has the Hi/Lo instruction + tyre life will be reduced etc etc on it,,.

Hey Ryan, I'm not talking about the nomenclature plate. But the original Rover chassis no plate, have a look on the front of your rh guard on the front of the vehicle, pretty sure your factory chassis number plate is there beside the tac plate holder.

For some reason I thought the plate on the guard was it but it doesn't appear to be, I'm getting some more pics developed now of when they were found.

Just noticed that it's had two tac holders on the rh guard.

LH side too has inboard holes for a TAC plate. Do you think they were both moved outboard and just one side was done rougher than the other?
