M60 pedestal and pintle
« on: June 17, 2013, 09:10:32 PM »
Hi, Diana asked for some photos of the pedestal and pintle mount for the M60's fitted to gunbuggies so I thought a separate thread might get a few pics posted by others, please

these are some photos from Bandianna museum

Regards
Scott

Hi Scott

I rather think those pedestall/pintles mounts are the ones fitted to the LRPV or to the 109" Rovers used later.

My request was rather specific in that we want images of 110-506s pedestal (now in the RNSWL museum).

The other issue is that the M60 in the Bandiana seem to be bolted to the mount rather than using the US ordnance Platform Mount seen in the following and buggy pics.

I guess we'll have to recruit Tommy's photo interpreting skills to identify side views of buggys with other views confirming an ARN.

Yes Diana you are correct, the one with the M60 is the 2A 109 and the photo of the base with the boxes around it are the LRPV, both at Bandiana. But I thought it's a start and might get more responses and keep it out of the ARN thread.

If anyone has a photo of 112-245 with the M60 fitted that would be great because that is how I will set mine up, not too much to ask surely!

regards
Scott

I don't think I'd want to be the driver of those buggies when the hot cartridges were being ejected from the M60!  >:(

No worries.
I think the gold coast military museum's website lists some ammo box cradles for sale that may come in handy.
