110 Canopies available from Robco

Ever since the auctions of the Army 110 fleet began, there has been a need for 110 canopies as many were in conditions varying from average, through to poor and "I can use that as a drop sheet".

Robco Products in Marrickville NSW are now able to produce canopies that are suitable replacements for the Land Rover's that we love.  Even for series Land Rovers.

I am sure that this news will be welcomed by many enthusiasts, past, present and future. I do not have any information on pricing, but knowing how much work goes into making an entirely new canopy, it won't be cheap, but they will be good, and brand new.

The GS canvas is HYG 3030.

You are looking at over $1,200 for a GS and over $1,500 for an FFR.

Don't know if they'll come down when doing batches because the only saving is when they can cut out multiples of the components.  All the manual work with stitching remains.

They also do seat covers for the ISRI seats in the jellybean uniform Auscam but if you have the other brand with the thigh side supports you need to confirm the type of seat and if they have patterns.  I guess you would have to confirm what type of ISRI headrest you have also.

I think thats a fair price, just look at a exmoor trim canvas plus shipping... makes these seem cheap.

They also make the light covers..

It may mean that Restless Rover is still the best deal for green canopies for older Series Vehicles.

Not making any comment about RR Vs Robco, but a friend wanted OEM so went direct and they were the prices.

I just ordered and paid for my new canvas. 2-3 weeks delivery, cost including gst and freight was $1500.
Might sound expensive, but it means the torn, mildewy canvas will go, and it is still within my budget.
Part number was HYG3030 which is the GS model.
I found the part number on the inside of the canvas and ROBCO underneath it. I checked the GS RPS and the part number lined up ok.
Someone with an FFR or FFR RPS should be able to find the part number for it, but when I spoke to them this morning, they knew the difference!

Sounds good at that price, everything included.
And Diana, I was hoping not to sound disparaging by comparing.
Was just curious about the availability of canopies for older stuff.
But I don't need one yet so it's all academic.

I think they will have their own part numbers rather than land rover ones, but i'll snd them an email in the morning to see if they have any information we can put on the suppliers page.

"Suitable replacements" and the fact the part numbers are different makes me think they are going to be similar in look and fashion, but be /different/ enough to not clash with the licencing..?

Else would they not say 'exact' or oem replacements (since they originally made them)

Like I have said before therese many ways to get around contractual agreements.

Might use a different type of material, or something silly down to a stitch pattern.

Still will be nice to see what they are offering both in quality and warranty,  And compare against what AKK Red Rocket turns out I am sure Allen will welcome someone else manufacturing canopies I know he's got a lot of work on.
