"There has been much speculation about the utility of our light cavalry vehicles. In order to support our growing number of tasks more effectively, we have commenced sending our vehicles in for rebuild. Two photos of the modifications can be found below."

hmmm.

In a Feb 2013 photo I can count eight LCV (they have higher canopies, side baskets and heavy front bumpers).

I wonder how long they will stay in service after rebuild may be waiting a long time for them to go to auction :(

2018? I'd like one.

You gotta love those combat rims.  8)

[ off topic, I've been on line all arvo due to my Tuesday Tech teacher being absent (caught the other side of the flooded road ].

There is one of them in the auction finishing today if I recall.

They are (I believe, Regional Force Surveulance Vehicles (RFSV).  Plated as truck ,surveillance if I recall.  Great photos and information though.

Correct Phoenix ;)
There still a few of the 'unmodified' ones getting about in FNQ and WA, but the NT ones are all 'modified'.

The front end sump plate whatever and bumper looks identical to the SFV. see http://www.remlr.com/perentie-SRV_in_transit.html

Is the tailgate design the same type?
I note the windscreen is a point of difference. Other "accessories" such as the roll down cam cloth, the side baskets, etc, ditto.

Be quick, Gray's will pull the listing and pictures after 15 days.

Curiously, the data plate will add an interesting point to the argument that the name "Perentie" was only ever used for the trial vehicles, not the production.

Those are a little special  ;-)

The 'bashplate is standard Defence 110. Bumper/brushguard is modified from original RFSV in that the 'bumperettes' are still steel, but the top and sides are alloy, and Hilift storage bracket has also been removed to lighten the front end.
Rear end is similar to FFR but with twin spares on the left and twin jerries on the right.

Great pics sixty!

And thanks for the info.

I am saving all the photos of all the land rovers at the auctions.  Don't have time to do all the other vehicles, but I am getting the rovers :)
