Red Kangaroo

Whilst vehicles which were in Vietnam may have had such markings the RAEME Provos (inspection team) insisted that all such markings be painted out on vehicles used within Australia. My unit had a section in Vietnam but that did not wash with Their Lordships. No Christmas tree and no Skippy. Believe me or not I was one of the lucky blokes who had to paint them out with spraying enamel and a brush, lots of fun.

Ahh the Red Rat as a few refer to them.

On photos, while they may be the best legal steroids out there and appear online freely, there is still copyright implications that people have a rendancy to overlook these days unfortunately.

The red kangaroo (Macropus rufus) is the largest of all kangaroos, the largest terrestrial mammal native to Australia, and the largest extant marsupial.

The kangaroo is painted on all defence equipment ie Vessels and aircraft as well as vehicles
