S-Line Internationals
« on: May 06, 2013, 04:12:48 PM »

I heard over the weekend that the original 350HP Cummins in the International Harvester, S-Line prime movers were upgraded to the 500HP version.

Has anyone else heard if the whole fleet was upgraded?

Did anyone see what the S-Line sold for at the last Defence Disposals Auction?

By the time I looked the auction had disappeared.

Gday all.  If that is the one that was advertised as incomplete and parts only I'm thinking it went for around 15 or 16k, although I am not 100% on that. It starts to become expensive after repairs and rego if it was purchased to put back on the road, but still rather one of them than something with the dreaded computer.   Regards, Bruce.

A friend of ours in Sydney has just won one of the S Lines at Auction.  We should expect to see it with one of the ex-Army maxicube Fruehauf trailers at Corowa next year!  (and most certainly at Corowa 2016) :)

It's going to go onto commercial registration and the owner back on the road with it.  He's sick and tired being one of the boses in the office.

Lets hope he can make a financial go out of it and still keep it in its military heritage.  It's isn't going into fleet colours (unless its Army fleet colours)  8)

Single bunk in the S line but you can have another bunk in the FFR and a double bed in the Studebaker!  8)

Like most trucks you can order it in most configs. There where single drive s Lines. The army ones where the first with intergrated bunks. Up until these the bunks where seperate units.
