Teaspoon Tipper ARNs
« on: January 04, 2018, 02:37:13 PM »
Just going through the AWM126 books and it seems the ARN pages are missing for 116-7** AB-160 trucks.
I have a chassis number I wish to look up and see if it served in Vietnam.
# is B02458

My copy has all the 116-7** ones listed, but none of the chassis numbers look like that.
(Should start with AB). All the chassis numbers start with a 1.

Could it be from an earlier batch?
I'll try to attach the extract that has that ARN range.

Looks like up stuffed up. It's not a teaspoon tipper. It's an ex army C1500.  With the bumper and winch from one?

The first batch are in the 108*** range, then there are the 116*** range, then the really late ones with the front guard extensions and the wider track front axle are in the 102-429 range.

The # I quoted was given to me over the phone. It was on a data plate in the cab. I wonder if it wasn't B02458 but 102-458, an ARN?

ARN 102-458 is chassis # AB20678 a 1966 truck disposed of 22/11/1977.
The chassis # for the C1500 is on the left hand side near the front spring hanger about the same place as the AB chassis #.
The cab could have been changed on the one you are talking about 2short, maybe.
