The other problem is that 1 armoured, the centre and the museum were all co located at the time so why the need for transport?

To and from Bandiana (1COD/35 Supply Bn/4 Base Workshop et al) was the main use. Road transport between Bandiana and Pucka took over from rail in the early 1960s. Rail was still used, especially for longer distances on exercises, but once the Aust tank transporter trailer came on-line from 1960, it dominated transport between those centres.

A very nice photo by Brian Wood showing the Scammell at the sharp end as they say. Members of ANZAC/4RAR approaching APCs of 3Cav. From the Leyland point of view, its perfect for an advertising poster.

Is this a Scammell perhaps?

A bit of weight for that bridge. Actually the road looks new. Perhaps this was a test after a rebuild due to bombing? Anyone's guess.
