Perentie ffr owner since yetserday
« on: September 20, 2018, 01:22:40 PM »
Hi everyone! After going though the stress of the going going gone online auction and resetting my unrealistic maximum bid twice I finally ended up the highest bidder on a nicely resprayed Perentie ffr. This site has been a valuable source of information and without having read here and other sources of information extensively for a few weeks before purchase I really would have been making a blind purchase of a vehicle I had little knowledge of. Can't wait to pick her up and very much looking forward to exchanging of experiences and information with other users. Cheers all.

Cheers Matt glad to be here.  Loved my Grandfathers old Range Rover as a child and it was only a matter of time till the itch needed scratching.  Very pleased unfortunately she is nearly 600 of your miles away in Sydney so won't get to lay eyes on her till next week.  I am going to install dropdown rear tailgate for my dog some door locks and ignition barrel and put a cheap marine stereo in her and then only the future will tell.  Turbo could follow soon after I think. Are you a current owner sir?

 8) welcome. FFRs are good.

Some vehicles got above average prices.
What is your FFR ARN number?

Decided on a custom ramp and I'll come up with something for a little bench saves the work and the money plus keeps her original so rear gate idea out.

Cheers thank you. Yes the prices do seem to be up a little. I had two cars shortlisted.  The cargo model I had shortlisted first (I don't know why my gut told me the ffr was the one beforehand) went for something like 14500.  Mine had a bit of grub on the canvas but I was more confident in the overall condition of the ffr I choose than others and hoped the grub might put some off.  In the end the price was the price and I'm happy.

Is the arn to be found in paperwork that hopefully will come with the car when I pick her up? Would the plate on cars information be able to reveal the arn?

Does this bag of goodies in the back look like the brackets for bonnet tools? Anyone recognise?

Yes the pintle and the gardening tool brackets and the windscreen bracket are in the back.

The ARN , army registration number. Was in the grays listing. It will be in the GM120 service book.  I think yours was 48 839. You can confirm by looking on your invoice

Cheers.

Thanks for that. The arn is 49341. Is it hard to trace the movements and history of the vehicle during its service life?

depends on if you get a gm120 (the service/history book specific for this vehicle) or not.
