[Bluebell One-eight]

The restoration on this truck has been a stop-start affair. There have been two moves of house with all the packing unpacking, stuff getting lost stolen etc. The good part is that it is now gathering momentum. It has been painted, but still some to do there and it has a name now. See the photo there are 5 new tyres and at least I can feel things happening. While lots of people are complaining about being bored during COVID Lockdown I've got more than enough to do.

One thing that came up with this truck was the clearance lamps. There has been a discussion about the different types used in service, and this truck had another variation. The lamp style was the same as the production one but it had a festoon rather than a bayonet globe. It had RFS orange over olive drab so the replacement was done in service. See the photo

The styles of clearance lamp. The top one is a later replacement,Hella or Narva brand, bottom is the original type with metal shield - body. The reflector is the correct type for these trucks. It looks a bit smaller because it is a little further from the camera than the lamps
