Should be do-able I think Diana,

Can you find out the dimensions?

Does your vehicle have the rivet holes, and if so, what is the distance (horizontally and vertically) between the holes?

How many were you after?

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Mike

I haven't found any holes but believe it should have been in the rear body area where extensive modifications occurred with the camper conversion.  The other IDs were on the body, but louvers were installed just below one et of holes to vent the fridge.

I do however know that on some variants the plate was affixed to the protruding part at the top of the Land Rover firewall on the engine side (same location as the compliance plate on perenties) which means that the height would have to be around 70mm to 75mm.

Assuming that and the dimensions on screen (120mm x 86mm) I would scale the image to 75mm H x 100mm W.

Only need one, I believe I have the only SADF F/C Land Rover in Australia.

Okay, so 100 x 75 mm. That is very close to 4 x 3 inches, would it have been imperial or metric do you think?

Is there anyone in South Africa who could verify this?

And, do you need repros of the orher two in your second photo?

Cheers,

Mike.

11mpg sounds pretty good to me Diana!

I seem to recall the "Vehicle Operating Instructions" specifying 6mpg on road and 2 mpg off-road for the petrol engine,

Hi Chazza.

As I said, pretty happy, and for anyone who knows the hills (mountains) at each end of "Bell Line of Road" and the one at Mt Tomah all of which were 2nd gear, even better.

Mike

I've tried to get the dimensions of the plate before without luck.  Measuring the location on the firewall, I would tend to be between 70mm and 75mm rather than greater than 75mm (e.g. 3" = 76.2mm) as I think it would be difficult to insert the top rivets.

Hi Mike,
Am I too late to get on the list for a full set of F1 placards?

Morning Drew,

No problem, we are still finishing the artwork, so I will put you on the list.

The Abbey crane originals have arrived from Ravvin, so there is a bit to do there!

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Mike - A bit late onto the thread but thanks to Greg I am now - Can I please order a full set for the FI with Abbey crane plates as well?

I will need some for the Mk 3 so if more are available I will be interested in those too.

My best Frank   ;)

Hi Mike,
Just wondering if I miss out on a set of placards. Just haven't see or herd much on the subject for a bit.

Hi Drew,

We are still finishing off the artwork for the Inter placards, so you have not missed out!

I am hoping to finish the artwork and get it up to the printer by the end of next week.

Sorry that it is taking longer than we thought, but we are just about there.

Cheers,

Mike.
