Mk 4 tail light and indicator lens

Could anybody give me an idea of where to find a set of lens for 172 571. Its come to the top of the restoration list and the lens on the vehicle are a bit worn looking. Thanks, Brian

Hi.
If you intend to get the clear section of the tail light, talk to the guy first.
I'm pretty sure this is the guy I contacted a couple of years ago and at the time he told me that the clear section he has is not for our Inters as it has a different curve and is wider.
I offered to send him the one cracked but complete one that I had so he could do a production run of them, but he never got back to me.

Hello Ravvin, just wondering - is that seller remanufacturing the split lenses ? If so then that's great news for Inter (And Australian Ferret) owners as they have been scarce for a long time.

Yes, from what he said when I spoke to him, he was getting new ones made. He said he could get pretty much any plastic lenses made, as long as he had an original to make the mould from and enough interest to be worth the initial cost. He was out of stock of the tail lights when I rang but was waiting on a shipment. That was a few years ago now, though.

Although I don't need any right now for myself, you never know what the future holds and there seem to be a growing number of vehicles being saved for preservation in recent years.

I found a company on line that had the lenses and black divider.
