Yes Rob6x6 there was Sixbies and now there are none. Gather it's their right to remove lots, but I believe thats a first with the military auctions.

G'day Fellas,
Current auction.  I'm sure when first listed on Thursday in the Vic listing there were maybe three or so 6x6 perenties.  Now there are none.  Am I dreaming or confused???
Cheers, Rob

Same, Rob.

(edited)
One of 6x6 GS comes with normal height snorkel (similar to SRV). is it unusual? I never see one with it in service.

Cheers, Perentiewrecker

Bandiana 4x4 Land Rover FFRs.

There are a dozen of them for April. This is the first time at Bandiana I think? Minto in Sydney has no LRs. And no 6x6 to be seen in all the auctions. Tons of Macks and Mogs.

The FFRs have had parts removed to get the local rego approval. B/O lights, sugar scoops, airlift parts, pintle hook, tool holders, Joe Coolin' windscreen supports... all removed. They have the repaint and new canopy (auscam) treatment and some have new tyres. Most have the Army plates still attached (covered with cardboard). Unusual.

See photo of one of the Federals, almost a hwy pattern. Only some have new Federal tyres to be passed as roadworthy in civvy street, some still have Michelins.

Now during 2017-18 a trainload of NOS Michelins were auctioned out thru AFM as we all know. Then in 2019 the Bandiana Q gets a request for tyres 'cause some LRs have high-km/high-wear Michelins. Hmmm. "Out of Stock". So then either the taxpayer or AFM buys new asian tyres. Maybe 100 sets, who knows. I first thought that they were perhaps replaced due to the Michelins being inspected for date of manuf. -and rejected as they were 2013 manuf, in the main... but thats not the case. Manuf. date is not an issue for roadworthy down there as I saw some of this April dozen wearing low-km/low-wear Michelins.

Well, the taxpayer won't be at a loss overall, the bid prices are covering the Federal tyres, paint, canopy and more. But still...

ps,
http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0047-3015516/ is 50-247, and (like my FFR) it is from Bandiana RACT. It is one that has an in-service recovery type photo. It is wearing the Michelins.

That snorkel was unusual for the 6x6. They might turn up next month.
Cheers Rob

Actually, a number of lots have been withdrawn over the years for various reasons. Some for very good reason and others that just leave you scratching your head  :D

Anyone know why the rebuilt motors in the most recent Bandiana auction went for far less than the last auction? I think I remember seeing that the turbo motors went for about 5k in the last auction and 3k in this auction. Non turbo ones went for about 2.5k last auction and 2k this auction. 2k for a rebuilt motor is a bit of a bargain imho.

I was bidding on the 6x6's at Bandiana, and then received this email:

Dear Valued Customer,
The vendor has instructed us to remove Lots 43, 49, 50 and 51 from sale 3015516.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Kind regards.

That's all I know - there where 3 x Cargos, and 1 x flat bed..

Cheers,
GG.

I noticed that Rob6x6!  Was keen to see another RFSV out there... I reckon there can't be too many left.

I'm hearing that Pickles have taken over the selling of the ex Army vehicles and equipment from Grays on line.
Any one know why?
The little bit of use of Pickles on line site that I have done was a awful experience compared to using Grays on line.

AFM haven't listed the Pickles auction on their site. I'm tipping the disposal contract may have come to the end.
46 Airds Rd Minto warehouse is also up for lease.

Maybe the Dept of Defence are now disposing if them directly through Pickles as they did with Fowles back when they disposed of the S2a and S3 Landrovers.

Yes, only one more auction to be held in Sydney. Grays are no longer the auction house for AFM and Pickles have taken over.
Cheers, Rob
