If the ECB bar carries a compliance plate or sticker saying it is compliant for your Territory when it is legal.  No sticker/plate means it is illegal.

Yes, it does have the sticker. I'm still trying to find these new regulations. No one has heard of them.
Maybe the engineer I spoke to is a little confused.

There is nothing new in the regulations have been around for quite a long time - in fact about as long as tow bars have had to have compliance plates so about 10 years or so.  Prior to that I think you are on your own and almost anything can be fitted - the rego rules on removing rops for Perenties probably doesn't have a leg to stand on if someone took up the legal cause due to their age, exactly the same if a 5 poster bar was fitted would not be illegal as the age of the vehicle predates the more modern rules.

So if the compliance plate/sticker says it is complied for your model Territory then you will be fine.

As you might be aware I have a Range Rover Sport - basically the same a Disco 3 and the Disco 3 bull bar fits straight on BUT it cannot be legally fitted as the compliance plate names the D3 not a RRS so I cannot fit one to my car.

Does anyone know a reputable mechanic near the Bandiana area that I could contact about a viewing of some of the vehicles that are coming up for auction next week?

I sent AFM an email asking why they're being cut with some background from the depots. I'll advise their response but since it's been 2 weeks with no reply I guess I won't get one...

Even the Mogs and Macks in the Sydney auction have had them removed, too.

I suppose if you were a pedestrian hit by a Mack truck, you wouldn't want any protrusions on the front bumper, they could hurt!

I think I will apply to CSIRO for a grant to find out, statistically. I have to be given a large sample of volunteer pedestrians of course.

G'day Fellas,
Current auction.  I'm sure when first listed on Thursday in the Vic listing there were maybe three or so 6x6 perenties.  Now there are none.  Am I dreaming or confused???
Cheers, Rob
